Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska and Republican vice presidential candidate, will appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009. She will be talking about her new book, Going Rogue: An American Life (release date - Nov 17th 2009) which is already a best seller on Amazon.com.

According to Harpo, the interview will be Palin's first about her new book, "Going Rogue: An American Life," and it will be the first time Palin and Winfrey will meet.

Palin's book was No. 4 on Amazon.com's best-seller list on Tuesday. It's slated to be released Tuesday, Nov. 17, the day after Palin's interview with Winfrey.

Sarah Palin is a strange choice for Oprah Winfrey show, especially with Oprah's close ties with the President Barack Obama. Oprah was seen crying at the president’s inauguration. She also accompanied him to Oslo in an unsuccessful bid to bring the Olympics to Chicago.

The news is already drawing a lot of comments from both Oprah and Palin's fans.

On Oprah’s Web site, which invites fan comments, the first one read: “I am very disappointed about your decision to have Sarah Palin on your show. In my opinion, this gives her a legitimacy that she does not deserve.” It was written by someone identified as plucche.

When The Chicago Sun Times issued the news on its Web site, the item drew comments from supporters of Ms. Palin’s and of the president — not, of course, in exactly the same camp.

“Palen please do not lower your self to such folks as Oprah you are so much better a person,” wrote one reader identified as d mcknight.

“WHY? Shame on you, Oprah” wrote someone who signed on as “disappointed.”

Others said they looked forward to the interview. On her Facebook page, one fan wrote to Ms. Winfrey: “Can’t wait to see you interview Palin! Great Job!”
