ENTERTAINMENT: Sesame Street Becomes Conservatives' Newest Target
Sesame Street, which many consider one of the best shows ever for children, has no respect for Fox News, a conservative blogger says. We'll guess he's not going to be celebrating Sesame Street's anniversary or Big Bird's Birthday, anytime soon.
During a recent Sesame Street segment, Oscar the Grouch (on GNN, the Grouch News Network, I assume) interviews a celebrity. A viewer calls in to criticize Oscar him after one of his subjects begins kissing him.
“Hugging and kissing? That's it, I am changing the channel. From now on I am watching ‘Pox’ news. Now there is a trashy news show.”
Andrew Breitbart's blogger (Breitbart is well-known as a conservative) says:
"The message is clear. I can’t even sit my kids in front of 'Sesame Street' without having to worry about the Left attempting to undermine my authority. And don’t tell me, 'If you don’t like it change the channel.' There are no channels left! It’s everywhere. Just last week I had Obama’s service and volunteerism promoted on every single major network, including Disney and Nickelodeon."
Now we know where the message of indoctrination by Obama simply because he wanted to tell students to study hard comes from. It's because of this sort of opinion. It's a children's TV show. Does this person really think that children are going to get the nuances. And since when has a little mockery become indoctrination.

There is no secter that conservatives don't like Obama, to tell the truth, I don't like him as well. But please don't get caried away with hate, and that what conservaties (at leat some of them) do!
He, Obama, still our president and we should respet his office.

Big Bird's birthday is especially important this year, given that his show is turning 40 this November 10. Why we're wasting valuable time on the birthday of a large yellow puppet is beyond me, but it was given the royal treatment, and Big Bird's Birthday was featured by a caricature of the big yellow avian/humanoid on the front page of Google. It was indeed a Sesame Street Anniversary, as the show has been on the air for 40 years. Generations were raised on it, and rearing their own with the show, with that big goofy bird and his imaginary friend. Ironically, he has not begun to gray at all. Well, congrats for Big Bird's Birthday, and evidently the show still gets ratings good enough for money now every year to keep going.

I grew up on Sesame Street, and my parents also learned the language via this show. It was a great help to us as well as countless other immigrant families as well. While I understand that the current treatment of the show may be extreme, I am sure that Sergey Brin feels some nostalgia with the show as well.
Sesame Street has seen a plethora of celebrities walk its stage and is highly revered by many. Since I am glad it is getting the royal treatment, as Steph mentioned, I am obviously upset at the fact that conservatives are using it as a new platform to launch attacks upon.
