ENTERTAINMENT: Current TV Labels Palin aTWILF, But Which One?
This is bound to raise hackles on the right. While the Current.com cartoon, "The Stupid Virus" or Fearus Ignoramus is obviously designed to show how unreasoning fear is used to frighten Americans into insane actions, it also called Sarah Palin "Gun-Ho" and a TWILF.
Now, I think most of us know what a MILF is based on the movie "American Pie," but a TWILF. According to the Urban Dictionary, that can mean one of the following:
- Acronym, stands for "Tweep I'd like to follow."
- One who farts in the bathtub and bites the bubbles.
- Same as MILF, but aimed at Girls in their 20s!
Personally, I think the TWILF comment is probably new, and probably meant TWitterer - ILF.
At any rate, while this is going to make some made, what's true is what FDR said in his first inaugural address:
So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.
While the Current TV post is definitely snarky, it points out that Conservatives are using fear to push their agenda.
Oh, and for those of you looking, the Palin jibe is about 1/2 way through the video (below).
