It seems like it happened like this -

On November 15th 2009, 28-year old Marium Varinauskas was busy getting drunk when his girlfriend decided that she cannot take any more. So, she did the best thing she could think of - call the cops. When Police officer Elaine Lynch arrived at the apartment, Marium found her a little too charming and decided to take his wiener out and tried to strike the officer's head with it. Luckily, Elaine was fast and avoided the deadly assault on her head.

Fiscal depute Elaine Lynch said: "The accused got to his feet and was standing over the police officer exposing his penis and thrusting it in her face, forcing her to take evasive action to avoid getting struck."

Defence solicitor John Hardie said: "He was sitting on the couch drunk with his pants on.

"He can't remember anything but accepts that if that's what the police say then that's what happened.

"He has never been so drunk before that day and accepts he has to take full responsibility. He apologises profusely and is extremely embarrassed."

<![CDATA[Fart fetishist Danish man targets women to smell their farts]]> Weirdness doesn't seem to have a limit. There is a man in Danish town of Kokkedal who has been reported to approach women jogging on the street, asking them to fart on his face, so that he can smell it and get aroused by it.

Police in north Zealand are hunting a man who has been accosting female joggers near the town of Kokkedal and asking them to break wind on him.

The first reported incident took place on 10 January on a running path near Kokkedal Castle when the man surprised a woman with his unusual request. He struck again on 11 February as a woman was jogging outside the local shopping centre.

Both women were frightened enough that they reported the man to the police, who described him as Danish, between 20 and 30 years old, 180cm tall and last seen wearing a black jacket, jeans and white trainers.

<![CDATA[Husband gets the house but wife takes the roof!]]> Divorces can be nasty especially with the husband and wife fighting over possessions. This one went a little beyond, when the ex-wife took the roof of the house with her because she paid for it, leaving the husband Sikelela Dlamini of Mvutjini, without a roof. The court ordered Busisiwe Ginindza to take everything that belonged to her including the corrugated iron sheet roof (as shown in picture below).

The wife had been thrown out of the house by the husband and is currently staying with her parents.

The homeless welcome awaited Sikelela Dlamini of Mvutjini on Thursday. This is the latest incident between him and his enstranged wife, Busisiwe Ginindza.
Because of the problems the couple was having, Dlamini had sent his wife back to her parental home to cool off.
Ginidza claimed that her husband told her that she should not take anything in the house even though most of the items were bought by her.
She also said she bought the corrugated iron sheets.
She got the order from the Manzini Magistrates Court and took everything while the husband was away.
The order was delivered by Christopher Ncongwane, a messenger of the court.
Ginindza stated that she left her husband last July, claiming that he threw her out
She said: I left my 14-year old son with him, but lately he has not been able to go to school because his father locked him out of the house.
The boy said: Since my mother left last year, I have been miserable and I do not think I will make it at school.

<![CDATA[Erin Andrews Peephole Video Stalker Sentenced]]>

The person behind the famous Erin Andrews peephole video, which was taken as the ESPN reporter traveled during an 18-month period, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison. Michael Barrett, 48, was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $7,366.

Barrett had previously pleaded guilty to the charge. Michael Barrett reportedly shopped the Erin Andrews peephole videos to at least on celebrity website, and after being turned down, uploaded 10 of them on the Internet, IDing the reporter in his posts.

At Monday's sentencing hearing, the ESPN reporter told the court that she still suffers as a result of the "Erin Andrews peephole video." The 31-year-old said:

"I'm being victimized every day...and I did nothing to deserve it. I'm living public humiliation. It's my body that's on the Internet. [...] He stalked me, he terrorized me -- this will never be over for me, and I don't want it to ever be over for you (referring to Barrett)."

During the aftermath of the Erin Andrews peephole video revelations, Andrews sometimes found herself stalked by others. You can read a transcript of a 911 call and listen to audio here.

According to court documents, at least 16 other unidentified women were targeted by Barrett in the same way. Court papers described them only as "female sports reporters and other television personalities."

Erin Andrews was voted America's "sexiest sportscaster" by Playboy magazine in 2007 and 2008, pre-peephole video days, and will be one of the celebrity contestants in the upcoming season of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars," which starts on March 22.

When a man brings home flowers for no apparent reason, many women melt. A bottle of wine and flowers and you have set yourself up for a good night. Sneaking into a bedroom in the middle of the night with a bottle of wine and flowers may sound like the most romantic move ever, but that entirely depends on the woman, and if you have any outstanding warrants.

While a particular woman was lying in bed, she hears someone climbing into her second story balcony. Her first thought? A burglar is trying to rob her. Logical, if she ignores the fact that her man isn't the most law abiding citizen.

Police discovered the "burglar" was a man carrying flowers and a bottle of wine who turned out to be the woman's boyfriend, but then arrested him on an outstanding warrant.

"He was trying to surprise her with the flowers and a bottle of wine but it all went wrong," said Korbach police spokesman Volker Koenig. He said the man jumped down from the balcony and tried to escape but was quickly tackled by police.

Ah, the stupidity of criminals. While this isn't a stupid act in and of itself, it ended badly, so you have to blame someone ... why not the criminal?

The story has a happy ending, though. The criminal in question was apparently so pleased with the way the police treated him, unlike his ungrateful woman who called the police in the first place, that he decided to give the police officers the bottle of wine. See, somewhere out there exists a small band of police officers that are nice ... imagine that!

Most of the Arab wore masks, thus their identification in court will be problematic.

A crowd of criminals who defy law enforcement officers and purposely evade identification is an enemy formation, yet the police feared prosecution and shrunk from shooting at the crowd. Arabs know that rioters usually go unpunished, and engage in riots as national sport.

The riots are instigated by Islamic Movement, an official organization which Israeli government refuses to ban despite decades of incitement.

Those who think that the Arabs would be satisfied with East Jerusalem might learn from the fact that the current round of riots follows renovation of the famous Hurva synagogue in the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem.

Mr Winn, of Taunton, Somerset, wrote back: 'Personally, I'd rather recruit ex-drug dealers, convicts and even child molesters rather than consider anybody who has been in the pay of the British Government.'

'Anybody who has been in the pay of such a military force, and by their silence and complicity has condoned such illegal and immoral actions while accepting a monthly bloodstained pay-packet , certainly won't be considered for employment by us.'

'The reality for the families of their victims is that there will never be any justice, and there never will be any closure, for the loss of a son, a husband, a child, or a family member who has fallen victim to British Military personnel who are going beyond 'just doing their job'.

I am also against war but it is ridiculous for a company/person to have such a policy against ex-servicemen or women. If he has something against war, then he should be against the people who declare them, rather than people who are made to carry it out. Servicemen or women did not select the war but chose to serve the country in which ever way the country needs them, which in turn is decided by head of countries. The person should be thankful to the men/women in uniform, rather than comparing them to drug dealers, etc.

While Gottfrid Svartholm and Fredrik Neij still have their own legal problems to contend with, it seems that The Pirate Bay itself will not be blocked by its providing ISP, Telenor. Personally, I don't think it would have mattered too much because they would simply move to another ISP, likely in Eastern Europe, where such laws don't exist. Regardless, this is a great victory for The Pirate Bay and other Torrent sites.

Gone are the days of pitstops lasting 10 seconds or more, the chance of fires and the intricacies of fuel stop strategies and in their place have come 3 second pit stops as the tyre men throw on slick tyres at a lightening rate.

While those tyre men have had to work harder and train ever more with the tyres, what about the companies behind the fuel rigs? They have had to work even harder to ensure their fuel optimises everything from power, efficiency and weight.

Thanks to Shell, The F1Fanatics Blog can bring you an exclusive look at some of the challenges surrounding the fuel company who provide their V-Power mixture to the Ferrari F1 Team.

Lisa Lilley, who is the top manager for Shells racing fuels department and works directly with the Ferrari F1 Team told us The 2010 refuelling ban is by far the biggest challenge we have seen in fuel development in 15 years, but it is also a really positive one for Shell. Over the last year we have put a lot of work into the formulation of the Shell V-Power race fuel for the new season, and our main objective has been to optimise the power and performance benefit of the Shell V-Power race fuel for Ferrari.

On top of just creating that faster fuel, efficiency is necessary so that the cars can complete the race as quickly as possible, yet the fuel needs to last them. While Bahrains Grand Prix yesterday was only 49 laps, the Monaco Grand Prix is 78. The fuel needs to work across the range of circuits to its top performance, and Shell have focussed on efficiency. Mike Evans, Shell Formula One Fuels Development Project Leader explains, Engines, performance-wise, are tuned to run a rich, heavy type of fuel but you can then run them on a slightly leaner formulation, which will give you a small drop in performance but it will also give you better fuel efficiency. Its getting that balance right.

The more efficient the fuel can be, means that the fuel tanks can be smaller and can lead to the car being lighter and thus faster in race trim. Ferrari are well known for having one of the fastest engines in the pit lane, and when compared to the Renault equivalent in their rivals Red Bull Racing car the Ferrari engine guzzles its fuel much faster so this has been an added challenge for the fuel scientists. Mike Evans continues [We have been] working hard for the last nine months leading up to the 2010 season, given the latest FIA rule changes.

The heat of the engine on the fuel has been another concern for the manufacturers, with the engines and fuel tanks in a much more compact structure than they were back in the early 1990s, there is a good chance of the engine heat affecting the fuel. This could occur even more frequently at races in locations such as Bahrain where the air temperature is usually around 36oC. ,Lisa Lilley continued her explanation Without this cooling effect, and in addition to having the larger fuel tank sitting next to very hot engines, the fuel itself will be getting hotter while it is in the car this year.

Lilley continued, At Shell, our fuel experts have been working since last year to meet these challenges, and provide Ferraris Formula One team with a custom-made Shell V-Power race fuel that can provide optimum performance even at high temperatures.

So it is very evident that Shell, like other fuel manufacturers have been working very hard. But what is the relationship between Ferrari, the most successful F1 team of all time and the Dutch fuel manufacturer? Stefano Domenicali was very happy with the links between the two companies The technical partnership we share with Shell is key to our understanding of fuel development. Shell has unrivalled expertise and knowledge in fuel technology, and our close-working relationship means we can constantly push the fuel to its boundaries to achieve both power and performance.

Domenicali continued The fuel is a crucial element that has always been very important to Ferrari and the refuelling ban in 2010 means the partnership will be absolutely fundamental this season.

The drivers too seem very happy with the work Shell have done, newcomer Fernando Alonso told us I think we are ready. We have some innovative new products from Shell, that we have spent a lot of the winter testing and I think we have found the right compromise. We have to be very optimistic for the season ahead

Paralympic Games 2010:

When I was in the states years ago, I became a big sponsor of the Paralympics and also of the Special Olympics. I have had the pleasure to cook, organize and feed multiples of thousands of these Olympic contestants in my time. One of the most memorial times for me was the paralympics after the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta Georgia. Right Now the Paralympics is going on in Vancouver Canada...

The Paralympic Games are held every four years, following the Olympic Games, and are governed by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The Paralympic Games are sometimes confused with the Special Olympics World Games, which are only for people with intellectual disabilities. (Link)

I have always been impressed by the organizations but have always been dismayed by the lack of public attention that everyone gives to these two wonderful programs for disabled people.

I was shocked as I turned my attention to the Paralympics and saw that Russia has excelled in the medal counts so far...

Aniston added: The toughest stunt, I would say the car chase, getting shot at, it wasn't hard, it was just a little scary.

Helmer Andy Tennant said: There were a lot of bruises and she's handcuffed for half the film, and she had some serious black bruises on her wrists because she was very physical, because she didn't want the fake ones, she needed the real ones, because she's constantly trying to get out of them.

Aniston said: It was terrible. No really, it hurt. It was painful, they really cut into my wrists.

<![CDATA[Rihanna to record single with JLS]]> Umbrella singer Rihanna has confirmed that she will be recording a single with British boyband JLS (Jack the Lad Swing) before the end of the year.

Rihanna, 22, was teamed up with JLS by Jay-Z, who is keen to develop the boyband in America.

He further plans on putting the two acts together and to link JLS up with his wife Beyonce and pal Kanye.

Working with JLS is something that will happen this year, the Sun quoted Rihanna as saying.

Jay will make stars out of them. He has been a great mentor to me.

He has been around long enough to spot real talent and he knows who will become worldwide stars.

They can sing, they can dance, they look good, actually they look very good.

But more importantly they look like a group. It doesnt look like they have been put together. It looks like they are meant to be together, she stated.

Rihanna, who has met the boys at parties in London, is certainly very enthusiastic, and believes they could become the biggest band on the planet.

I will be working with them on one of their singles and am sure Kanye and Bey will collaborate with them on tracks as well, she said.

America has only had a little taste of them so far, but give it probably as little as 18 months and they could be the most famous band in the world.

<![CDATA[Where's My Corpse? Funeral director scrambles to retrieve body after tow truck hooks his minivan]]> If you live NYC and own a car, you understand the frustration that comes along with it. Not only do you have to look out for 3-ft. deep potholes, numerous pedestrians that walk in the streets, crazy cabbies and angry drivers while you're driving, but you also have to be very careful where you park. It's no secret that NYPD Traffic cops love to give out parking tickets like beads at Mardi Gras for illegally parked cars, as well as tow them, but they will also ticket and tow legally parked cars too. No one understands this better than Funeral Director Paul DeNigris, who ended up chasing his towed van - and the corpse left inside - across town after it was towed for parking somewhat illegally outside his funeral parlor...

On the road to eternal peace, a body left inside a funeral home minivan wound up at hell on earth: the city tow pound.

The unscheduled stop came after a police tow truck hooked the illegally parked vehicle outside Redden's Funeral Home on W. 14th St.

The dearly departed was soon heading for a lot off the West Side Highway, with the truck driver handling the last rights - and a few lefts - on the ride through Chelsea.

Funeral director Paul DeNigris said he nearly died after walking outside the business Monday afternoon to find his client no longer resting in peace.

"I was just a wreck," DeNigris told the Daily News. "I was frantic. When something like that happens, you go into panic mode."

The corpse was finally rescued after 90 undignified minutes in Manhattan's most miserable locale, trapped amid scofflaws and irate out-of-towners.

DeNigris had parked his silver 2002 Dodge in a "No Parking Anytime" zone outside the funeral home. The body, in a white cardboard box, was headed for Newark Airport and a flight to Miami for cremation.

DeNigris said he stepped inside to pick up some paperwork, took a phone call, and returned to find ... nothing.

"The car was just gone," he said yesterday.

The NYPD said the van was ticketed at 9:22 a.m. - and then towed nearly three hours later, at 12:07 p.m.

"There was nothing to indicate it was more than just an illegally parked car," said NYPD Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne.

The terrified DeNigris was at the pound within minutes, explaining his improbable plight and showing his funeral home paperwork.

"I tried not to be too loud," he recounted. "I didn't want to scream, 'I'm the guy from the funeral home with the car with the person in the back.'

"We try to be discreet."

The car and its human cargo were returned at 1:40 p.m., with Redden driving to Newark in time to put the body on the Florida flight.

He declined to provide any information about the victim.

DeNigris said the minivan had a windshield placard reading "Funeral Director on Official Business," but acknowledged it had fallen flat and was hard to detect.

The van's tinted windows helped obscure the box packed in its rear, he said.

Redden's will start putting signs identifying its vehicles in the rear and side windows to prevent a repeat.

The tow pound, in a show of respect despite the bizarre circumstances, waived the $185 fee when returning the minivan.

DeNigris said he planned to fight the $115 parking ticket, claiming a funeral business vehicle transporting a body is immune to parking regulations.

If he loses, DeNigris said, that's the cost of doing business in the city.

"It's frustrating," he said. "It's aggravating. But this is New York City. Things like this are not uncommon."

Hard to believe, but it happened in reality. A Hungarian bank lost $28,000+ in a crash after a bank's security van met an accident with a prison van carrying convicted robbers.

While rescue personnel saved the prisoners from their burning van, a small fortune disappeared from the security van as bags of money spilled out onto the streets of Budapest.

Civilians were seen driving up and grabbing the cash before speeding off again.

By the time law enforcement arrived the money was gone and there was no trace of those that had taken it.

Police suspected the robbery may have been organized from jail by crime bosses and carried out by gang members still on the outside.

But after interviews with the inmates - who were being transported from court back to jail - those suspicions were quickly refuted. The prisoners claimed they had nothing to do with the crash.

"The bank remains very suspicious. Of all the vehicles that could have hit their van, it had to be one full of bank robbers," said a police spokesman.

This 11 feet by 5.5 feet London apartment (converted out of a broom cupboard) is all about location as it is located opposite Harrods in Knightsbridge (London). The apartment has been apraised at 200,000. The owner Ray Barker uses it to sleep in and avoid the lengthy commute.

Well, for sure this race is very important for the team, said Domenicali. After a difficult season like last year, and after a very difficult decision that we had to take last year, everyone was ready with the gun to fire. But that is part of the game.

Red Bull Racing looked very good in this race, with Sebastian Vettel leading the field until reliability problems with the Red Bull lowered him to 4th place late on. However Domenicali is just happy the car looks competitive.

What is important to see is that the car we have seen this weekend is a good base to look ahead for the future, he said. The season is very, very long and we have to stay with our feet on the ground because I am expecting all the others to be very aggressive and very competitive.

But we have seen a good car in both qualifying and racing conditions, and it proves that the work that has to be done is a lot still. But we are starting from a good pace.

<![CDATA[Tiger Woods-centric episode to open South Park Season 14]]>

South Park is ready for season 14, and they are going to start the season off with a bang. Not a banging, but a bang, though you might assume that since they are targeting Tiger Woods with their first episode, banging might be involved. Since the Black Friday 2009 car accident that first spotlighted to the public the reality of Tiger Woods' numerous affairs and sex addiction, Woods has been lampooned, roasted (and not a celebrity roast) and derided. How could South Park pass it up?

"It's such an important issue in America right now the sex addiction outbreak," Matt Stone, who partners with Trey Parker on the series, said on Friday. "We're all really concerned about him and hope he gets better."

It's difficult to tell if that concern is honest or sarcastic. Stone and Parker were reportedly still working on the script on Friday, and he noted that he was both fascinated and disgusted by Woods' public apology, so sarcasm isn't out of the question.

South Park's new season begins on Wednesday, and the series will air its 200th episode next month.

Saturday night during the news hour on Imedi TV channel, Made a broadcast that Russia had invaded Georgia after a terror attack on the president of South Ossetian republic, Eduard Kokoity. The news report started out and stated that Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvili and his government had been evacuated.

They did have a short disclaimer (like this statement) about not being true at the end of the newscast, very short! And at the beginning of the news cast was a statement that the program showed a sequence of possible events that could only occur "If Georgian society is not brought together against Russia's plans."} ---- Kinda small and short like this!

Within several minutes into the news report, they reported the death of Saakashvili and creation of the Peoples government headed by one of the opposition leaders, Nino Burdzhanadze. (Nino Burdzhanadze is pissed!)

By this point Georgia was a madhouse of instigated turmoil and the damage was done...

On Sunday after all was over with and a form of calm had set in, Mikhail Saakashvili claimed that such staging of a war situation might be useful to protect Georgia from a new war with Russia. But he made clear that he had nothing to do with it and next time that the news station should do a better job of letting people know that is was a false report!

OK! I really believe that Sassy had nothing to do with it...

We're always trying to find something that Uncle Hugh has done that he can see, but they're full of swear words. We can't find any! the Telegraph quoted her as saying.

She added: He can't watch Four Weddings And A Funeral. He can't watch About A Boy. It's quite difficult trying to find stuff for kids.

The actress revealed that Damian often spends time with Grant, who is also his godfather.

She said: We see an awful lot of him. We still live next door to each other in London.

Hurley claims that she has permitted her son to watch her films Austin Powers and Bedazzled, which are both rated 15.

I wouldn't really watch anything that I'm in, but because of Damian, I've seen Austin Powers thousands of times.

He knows all my lines, he can describe all my costumes, all my hairstyles he knows which ones are wigs; he knows the lot. And Bedazzled he loves. He loves me being the devil. Of course he knows all those lines as well. I dont know any of them.

<![CDATA[British couple face jail time over a kiss in Dubai]]> British couple, 24-year old British expat Ayman Najafi and 25-year old tourist Charlotte Lewis, face jail time for publicly kissing at the Jumeirah Beach Residence in Dubai. They are accused of breaching the strict public decency laws. They were also accused of consuming alcohol for which they pleaded guilty.


According to the reports a 38-year woman was dining with her daughter at the restaurant when she saw them kissing and reported it to the authorities. Najafi denies the accusation and claims that it was just a peck on the cheek.

Interestingly, the country doesn't allow kissing on the lips but allows kiss on the cheek which is used as a greeting.

<![CDATA[Breast Implants: Forget silicone, use body fat]]> Looking to get breast implants? Why not get a use the extra fat from your tummy or your thighs?

In this revolutionary new procedure a patient is given local anesthesia and the fat removed during liposuction, mixed with other body cells is injected into the breasts (instead of traditional silicone). The procedure is known as platelet injection fat transfer (PIFT).

Last December 25-year Emma Harding became the first British patient to go under the procedure going from 32B to 32C.

'I always wanted larger breasts, so when I was made redundant from my job in marketing last year and found another job straight away, I decided to spend the money on surgery,' she says.

'Having silicone implants was not for me - I may have wanted a bigger chest but I didn't want to look like Jordan. And I didn't like the idea of something alien in my breasts.'

Emma considered injections of synthetic filler Macrolane - a procedure known as 'the boob jab', which can boost the breasts by a cup size.

'But I decided against this as I had heard too many reports of this filler turning lumpy,' she says.

'I began speaking to surgeons about other options, which is how I was offered the chance of having a PILF breast enhancement by the Viel brothers.

'I was concerned that it was a new treatment and there was an amount of uncertainty in the outcome and longterm effects. But Dr Viel reassured me I had nothing to worry about and that the procedure had been carried out in America.

'I asked whether there was a chance my breasts could end up lumpy and he told me the process eliminated that possibility. So I booked myself in.'

There are concerns regarding the procedure. There are concerns about breast cancer and asymmetricity with regards to fat absorption. Some plastic surgeons say that only 65% of the grafted tissue survives, which might mean that the post-procedure breasts might shrink over time.

Consultant plastic surgeon Mr David Ross, at Guy's, St Thomas' and Kings College hospitals, also believes the Viel brothers are giving patients overly optimistic expectations.

'I have used similar procedures in reconstructive and aesthetic patients,' he says. 'There is evidence that fat transfers could provide augmentation in the breast but normally only 65 per cent of the grafted tissue survives.

'My concern is the use of Vaser Lipo. This liquifies the fat which, in my experience, would increase the likelihood that they would be quickly reabsorbed. Much of what the Viel brothers are promising women is unproven.'

<![CDATA[March 13th Becomes First National Coffee Party Movement Day]]>

Accidentally started by documentary filmmaker Annabel Park, the Coffee Party movement faces its first test today: newly-formed Coffee Party chapters are meeting all across the country. Formed out of frustration over what some call the extreme views of the Tea Party movement, and even racism, the Coffee Party movement started with a rant on her Facebook page by Park.

Several weeks ago, Park posted the following on Facebook:

"Let's start a coffee party a Red Bull party anything but tea. Let's get together and drink cappuccino and have real political dialogue with substance and compassion."

After Park was swamped by responses agreeing with her, that the Tea Party movement did not represent their of America, things snowballed. The official Coffee Party movement Facebook group has swelled to over 130,000 fans. They also have an official website. Interestingly, despite being founded in March of 2009, as opposed to weeks ago, the Tea Party facebook group has only 110,000 fans.

Saturday, local Coffee Party movement organizers will hold more than 350 meetings for the Coffee Party National Kick Off. Meetings will take place in almost every state, with national organizers encouraging groups of no more than eight people at a local (where else) coffee shop.

The Coffee Party movement declares the following on its Facebook page:

"We want jobs with decent pay for all Americans. We want affordable health care and education. We want our government to cut wasteful spending and practice fiscal discipline. We want regulation of Wall Street to protect consumers and promotion of financial literacy."

It also states the following in a message to Congress:

"You work for us, not for corporations. We hired you and we get to fire you. We pay you and give you great health insurance. Now get to work serving the interests of the American people, or get out."

The Coffee Party movement, like the Tea Party movement, believes that government does not represent them. Unlike the Tea Party, however, the Coffee Party wants to change it so that government does represent them. Meanwhile, the Tea Party wants government to go away.

It is clear, therefore, that the Tea Parties have not taken an example from Denmark. For years (2007, 2008, late 2009) Denmark has been called the "happiest place on earth."

University of Copenhagen Sociologist Peter Glindelock described part of the reason for the happiness in Denmark is, in fact, big government. He has conducted many studies on this issue.

Glindelock says part of the reason is the country's social system. "The happiness standard is the quality of life in different societies. And Denmark scores very highly on all those different values. So even though the climate is poor, which is part of that analysis, it still shows that the welfare state is very important for people's happiness."

In Denmark, the state controls the health, educational, and other systems, and the Danes are willing to pay high taxes to support them. "And this kind of welfare state means that everybody gets more or less the same from the state," said Glindelock. "At least what the Danes like, they like an egalitarian society."

Barclays bank in Britain has the solution for their wealthy clients - the calls will be routed to their British call center, but the ones with poorer credit rating will still be routed to call center in India.

Those who have considerable savings or a credit limit that allows them to borrow around 500 from the bank or buy its products will be connected to a British operator.

Though the reason for the change is not to give better customer service but to sell products to the people who can afford them. No surprise, but it seems like the call centers in India is not good at selling these products and services.

Critics say the bank is only interested in people with cash and not the genuine concerns of millions who have queries about the state of their finances.

<![CDATA[New John Lennon ‘Bed-in for Peace’ pics surface]]> New pictures of John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono, clicked during their famous Bed-in for Peace in Montreal in 1969, have surfaced.

The pictures, snapped by Life photographer Gerry Deiter, are being showcased in an exhibition in Coventry Cathedral, West Mids.

Deiter was the only photojournalist who was permitted to capture the couple for the full eight days of bed-in at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel.

The pictures show the couple writing and recording their song Give Peace a Chance.

Gerry Deiter was the only photojournalist there the entire eight days, with complete access, the Telegraph quoted Nick Chevasse, the Cathedrals tourist director, as saying.

He said: He was on assignment for Life magazine, but his story was bumped in favour for one about Vietnam.

The photos were never published, they never ran, so Deiter hid them away.

This is why many of the images are not familiar, even to Lennon fans they have never been seen before by anybody.

He captured the celebrity visitors, the action and intimate, behind the scenes moments between John and Yoko.

In one photograph, John strums his guitar, while Ono chats to 16-year-old Gail Reynard, who had scaled the hotel's fire escape and pleaded with the couple to let her stay.

Gail was given the original handwritten lyrics for Lennon's peace song, as she was present at the spot throughout the eight days.

She said: When I first saw the images from the exhibition, I was carried straight back to that amazing time.

They started to unlock details that I thought I had forgotten.

<![CDATA[Opera Singer murders husband and then uses double to get fortune]]> 71-year wealthy fish Farmer, Hermann Hill, went missing from his home in the village of Kappel-Grafenhausen, near Freiburg (Germany), in October 2009. But sometime in December, his wife, 55-year old opera Singer Waltraud Hill, 55, showed up with him at a female lawyer's office in Freiburg, where she received power of attorney for all her missing husband's estate. She also visited a public notary with him. So, she got him to sign over to her his properties, stocks, bonds, cash and life insurance policy worth a fortune (5 million).

It was later revealed that Waltraud had taken an impersonator to the bank who was made to look like her husband Hermann Hill. It is reported that she approached up to 10 people to play the part of the "fake" husband. The final willing candidate had a make-up artist work on him to make him look like her husband.

Police believe that she killed her husband and then got an impersonator to get the fortune. The husband is believed to be dead, but there is no proof of his death yet.

The alleged deception was uncovered when another man Mrs Hill had asked to impersonate her husband came forward to police.

Detectives launched an investigation in which officers interviewed 7,000 people, and found another eight people who admitted they had been asked to pose as the bogus Mr Hill.

One allegedly told detectives: "She showed me a photo of this old geezer, said there would be a 'good drink in it for me' if I played him at a lawyer's office and at a notary's. I didn't want to get involved."

Police also traced the lawyer in Freiburg and she confirmed details of the transfer of wealth to Mrs Hill. Detectives did not arrest her immediately, but asked her to turn up at the police station with her husband for an interview.

On the day she was supposed to show with him she telephoned in advance to say: "I am terribly sorry, but he has been called away on a business trip."

The singer explained that Mr Hill had surprisingly appeared, then disappeared again, and has remained missing for two months.

Detectives have not found the body of Mr Hill, but his wife has been arrested and charged with murder and fraud.

A police spokesman said: "We have to go on the assumption he is dead and that she is responsible for it. In the weeks after she went to the lawyer she made many conflicting statements to us.

"She thought she had committed the perfect crime, never thinking that anyone would ask questions about why a missing man would turn up to sign legal papers and then go missing again." Source: www.telegraph.co.uk

She and her husband were sentenced to prison for the act. The woman was recently released on parole. She is 41-year old Anna Ayala.

She was jailed for 9 years in prison, but she won an appeal that reduced her sentence to 7 years 8 months. She recently did a TV interview where she admitted that she cooked the chili with the finer of a co-worker.

In the interview, Ayala admitted for the first time ever how she prepared the severed finger of a co-worker in a batch of chili made with a similar recipe to Wendy's chili.

There is one condition of her release - She cannot go inside a Wendy's restaurant during the period of her parole.



"On March 22, 2005, Ayala alleged that she had found an amputated human finger in her chili and sued Wendy's, a fast-food restaurant chain. After an investigation by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office and San Jose Police Department, it was determined the finger did not come from a Wendy's employee, or from any employee at the facilities that provided ingredients in the chili. Though early reports suggested that the finger was "fully cooked," the Santa Clara County coroner's office initially concluded that the finger "was not consistent with an object that had been cooked in chili at 170 degrees for three hours."

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department investigated the woman's home in Las Vegas, Nevada, in relation to the case, but what, if anything, was found was not immediately disclosed. Rumors ran rampant that Ayala had a dead aunt who might be related to the case, although she denied anyone recently passed on. Ayala claimed the police treated her and her family "like terrorists," acting against her violently, but neighbors downplayed the event. Later, it was also discovered the woman had filed numerous lawsuits against various retail establishments in recent years (see section above), adding another level of mystery to the case.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested Ms. Ayala on April 21, 2005, taking her to the Clark County Detention Center. Ayala was charged with felony attempted grand larceny as well as grand theft. The grand theft charge is allegedly in connection with the fraudulent sale of a San Jose mobile home that Ayala did not own between September 2002 and November 2003; in reality it was owned by her live-in boyfriend, according to a statement filed by San Jose police Detective Albert Morales. The attempted grand larceny charge is connected to the Wendy's chili finger case; a penalty enhancement was issued for inflicting more than $2.5 million in losses on Wendy's as a result of plummeting sales.

Prosecutors portrayed Ayala as a scam artist with a penchant for filing lawsuits. Tests indicate that the finger had not been cooked in the chili, according to court records. They did not indicate where they thought the finger came from.

At a press conference held in San Jose, California on April 22, 2005, local Wendy's franchise holder Joseph Desmond urged people to "please come back to Wendy's because we do serve wonderful hamburgers, shakes and everything else." Wendy's announced it would offer free Frosty shakes with any purchase to all Bay Area customers that weekend as a show of goodwill and commitment in the wake of its investigation. On May 10, Wendy's expanded its offer of free Junior-sized Frosties nationwide from May 13 to May 15, with no purchase required.

On September 9, 2005, in San Jose, Ayala and her husband, Jaime Plascencia, plead guilty to conspiring to file a false claim and attempted grand theft."

<![CDATA[Prada to get rid of "old, fat and ugly"]]> Italian fashion design company Prada came under fire over claims that they offered store manager to get rid of "old, fat and ugly".

Rina Bovrisse, senior retail manager at Prada Japan who oversaw 500 staff and 40 stores in Japan, is suing Prada in a discrimination and harassment case with allegations about eliminating the "old, fat and ugly" and order for her to "change her hairstyle, to lose weight".

Her allegations focus on an incident in May last year when she claims that Davide Sesia, the CEO of Prada Japan, allegedly asked her to "eliminate" around 15 managerial staff he described as "old, fat, ugly, disgusting or not having the Prada look," following a tour of 40 stores.

Immediately after his demands, human resources reportedly notified 13 members of staff with devotional transfer orders due to poor sales, according to Ms Bovrisse, who disclosed details of the case in a Japan Times interview.

Ms Bovrisse alleges that she herself was later summoned to a meeting and informed that Mr Sesia reportedly wanted her to "change her hairstyle, to lose weight" because he was "ashamed of Ms Bovrisse's ugliness, so he doesn't want visitors from Italy to see her".

Describing why she had launched the claim, Ms Bovrisse said: "My responsibility is to protect hard-working women and make sure their working environment is safe."

<![CDATA[China Criticizes America's Human Rights Record]]> America's annual human rights survey once again criticized China, Cuba, Myanmar, North Korea and Russia. This time, China was very quick to respond. Citing American hypocrisy, China blamed the USA for the current financial crisis gripping the world which is causing substantial human rights problems and claimed that America is unmatched when it comes to causing mass suffering throughout the world.

While many would find these accusations baseless, the fact is that they are on point. The USA are quick to criticize all, but never take a step back to reflect on their actions. America has caused over a million deaths in Iraq and counting, which is exponentially higher than Saddam's entire reign. What American corporations do around the world, often causing irreversible devastation, is completely ignored in America's criticisms. This is hypocrisy at its peak.

Nancy Pelosi later criticised china for its Tibet issue, honoring the many brave Tibetans who have sacrificed their lives fighting for freedom. China has become extremely sensitive of the Tibet subject.

As the rhetoric grows, so do tensions. With China becoming more and more agitated at America's interference, its alliances with Russia grows. Worse yet, its support of Iran hardens, making America's life substantially more difficult.

It is time for America to press the reset button on Chinese diplomacy. If they don't understand the Chinese, they should simply back down. Antagonizing China is in no one's interests today.

<![CDATA[Is Ukraine Seeing a Light at the End of the Tunnel?]]> It seems that one presidential election would not make that much difference. But when you had a leaders such as the last Ukraine president and Prime Minister you really have no where to go but up.

Today several announcements have been made and it looks like Ukraine might see a little light at the end of the tunnel instead of total darkness.

The first thing that happened was:

MOSCOW, March 12 (Itar-Tass) -- Standard and Poors, an international rating agency, has raised the sovereign crediting rating of Ukraine on its liabilities in foreign currency from CCC+/C to B-/C, and on the liabilities in the national currency from B-/C to B/B. The forecast on the ratings is positive, says a press release of Standard and Poors.

We believe that the recent formation of a new ruling coalition and the cabinet of ministers in Ukraine opens up new opportunities for the improvement of policy coordination and for the resumption of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), said Franklin Gill, Standard and Poors crediting analyst.

Now that is a shot in the arm, so to say! Even if you (like me) do not believe that "Standard and Poors" credit analyst is worth a hill of beans, the business world does and that is what counts.

Then also today the Ukrainian Defense Ministry has announced that Russia and Ukraine, after 7 long years of total Navy ignoration, will resume exercises of the Ukrainian Navy and the Russian Black Sea Fleet just like in the old days!

Wow what a difference a new president has made for Ukraine.

<![CDATA[Russian Road Police Eats His Bribe!]]>

A traffic police officer from the Chelyabinsk region, caught in the act of taking a bribe of two thousand rubles, ate the money right in front of the police.

On March 2, 2010 a traffic police officer stopped a car driven by a resident of Kasli who broke the rules of the road (passing in a no passing zone). The officer demanded a bribe of 2,000 rubles for not filing a report on the incident. The driver then left to get the money.

Instead of getting the money, the driver went to the police for help. The Economic Crime Department worked out a surveillance plan to arrest the corrupt traffic officer. The driver was given the sum, three bills adding up to the 2,000 rubles, which he passed to the traffic officer that same day.

During the planned arrest the officer locked himself in the company car and, covering his face, choked the money down. Having destroyed the evidence, he voluntarily surrendered to the police.

Gotta Love it...

<![CDATA[Is A Man a Man?]]> Is a man and man, possessed of and by a similar nature and drives to his fellows, irrespective of his race, ethnicity, or creed? Are all peoples essential equal at a fundamental level in that they all have similar aspirations and have both base and sublime desires that resemble those of all other peoples?

Many Americans claim to believe that the answer to all these questions is yes, all men are equal.

Indeed, answer is contained within the single most quoted line from our Declaration of Independence and has been used many times as a rationale for changing our nations laws.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness

The very wording of this declaration, combined with what we know of the Founding Fathers theologies and philosophies, sets forth the inherent equality of all of Man as a matter of Natural Law.

But, if this is case, one would be forced to accept the bad along with good. Whether it is merely peoples belief that all men are inherently equal or a fact of Natural Law that they are, in fact, equal in both propensity for nobility and for ignominy then one should expect roughly similar results and responses any stimulus that is applied to a group people, irrespective of their race, ethnicity, or creed.

That being the case, why do so many people in America believe that domestic aid programs will achieve any better results than the bulk of both private (NGO) and governmental foreign aid programs have achieved in the many decades of their existence?

Foreign Aid Failure

Truly, if the aim of aid was and is to better the lot in life of its recipients, then the trillions of dollars Americans have given in aid to the impoverished of countless nations has been largely a failure. With the fewest of exceptions it has not achieved that goal. It may have kept a great many from dying but it has not let them live, but merely to exist dependent upon the largess of Americans.

Does anyone reading this post have an example of a circumstance when foreign aid has had a long-term positive effect that resulted in the recipients no longer needing the aid?

In some cases, such as AIDS relief in Uganda, foreign aid actually made things far worse. Foreign aid, focused on treatment instead of prevention and containment has actually ended up killing more people than would have died without it.

Domestic Corollary

There are, of course, obvious direct corollaries between foreign aid and domestic social programs, both in methodology and in efficacy. This stands to reason; people in America who are interested in such things have found a singular premise and formula for providing aid to the poor, and have applied it to both foreign and domestic targets.

Welfare, Medicaid, SCHIP, WIC, Food Stamps, and a plethora of other Social Programs are essentially domestic variations of the same programs we deploy as part of foreign aid. They are all based solely upon keeping people alive and do not make provisions for actually improving the recipients situation.

American Exceptionalism

Do people truly believe that our domestic aid programs will have different and better outcomes than our foreign aid programs have had? Wouldnt such a belief just be an example of the philosophy of American Exceptionalism something which so many of the people who favor the continuance of these programs describe as self-serving, jingoistic, and based upon a myth?

Aside from some thought or belief that Americas poor are somehow different and better than the poor of other countries, how can people expect subsistence aid to have any long-term positive effect and remediation of the recipients situations when it has failed to do so in other countries time after time.

Conclusion Opinion

Im left with having to choose between two disparate conclusions either the proponents and supporters of Americas various subsidies for the poor base their support on something other than actually improving the lives and situations of those poor, or the proponents and supporters of Americas various subsidies for the poor believe in American Exceptionalism and, therefor, do not believe that a man is man and that all men were created equal.

IAF bombing raids are ludicrous: there is no conceivable sense to bomb two tunnels out of 400. More importantly, IAF bombs them in a way to minimize Palestinian casualties. Since IAF refrains from bombing the Egyptian end of the tunnels, smugglers run there in case of attack and survive.

Egypt employs a more fearful tactics of flooding the tunnels, so that smugglers die which frightens them a lot and drives many people out of this business.

The Godfather of Soul was placed in a temporary crypt at his daughter Deannas South Carolina home, while a public mausoleum was being considered.

However, illegitimate daughter, Pettit, has alleged that the remains of the I Got You hitmaker are no longer there.

She insists that it has been misplaced to avoid her carrying out an autopsy to reveal the true cause of his death.

My daddys body has disappeared. I have no clue where it was taken but I need to know where it is, the Mirror quoted Pettit as saying.

She added: Im convinced his death was suspicious and I want those responsible brought to justice. The only way to do that is to exhume his body and have an autopsy.

I cannot understand why one was never conducted, especially as his death seemed so mysterious. It was common knowledge daddy took illegal drugs until his death.

He was also hooked on various prescription painkillers. At the very least there were enablers who helped cause his death.

Rumours were once abuzz that Brown had buried some of his 120million pound fortune in his 62-acre estate in South Carolina.

Pettit said: There were reports he may even have been beaten up before he died, perhaps by someone looking for money on his property.

Brown had died of an alleged heart attack following a bout of pneumonia on 25th December 2006 at the age of 73.

Police summoned to the church Friday by staff, found Bentley trying to haul away a garbage can filled with food, kitchen utensils, clothes, electronic equipment and a 26-inch flat-screen television.Police Cmdr. Mike Brennan said Bentley used the electronic equipment to watch pornographic movies that were found on him when he was arrested.

<![CDATA[A Street Sign Warning for "Drunk Pedestrians"]]> Drive through any college area or famous bar area on a Friday/Saturday night and you will find plenty of drunk pedestrians. Though I agree that walking is far better option for drunk people than driving, but they are still a threat to someone driving on the road.

Officials in Pecica (Romanian village town near Hungary) have found the answer. They have installed 10 road signs around popular nightspot areas in the town. The signs are bright red in color which show a person crawling on their knees while clutching a glass in one hand with the Romanian phrase "Cetateni Turmentati" (in English - Attention - Drunks) under it.

The mayor of the town, Peter Antal, got his inspiration from a town in Germany which installed similar signs.

He said officials took action after a despairing number of accidents in the town, which has a population of about 13,000, caused by drunken revellers, with some even resulting in fatalities.

He said it was not motorists fault but blamed the towns pedestrians, many of whom were not able to look out for themselves as they walked around the town, which is more than 300 miles west of the Romanian capital Bucharest.

"We are a border town and have lots of cars thundering through here all the time," he told local media.

"But we also have a very vibrant nightlife and the two don't mix.

We have to target the drivers because by the time they get to this state, the pedestrians are beyond caring.

He added: In recent years some traffic accidents (have) resulted, in some cases, even with deceased (people).

We have thought about different options (on how) we can stop this and we decided that first step was to mount these signs.

We must warn drivers that sometimes people who have little control over their actions can suddenly appear in the road.

<![CDATA[Man reads his own obituary in the newspaper]]> Imagine this, you are going through your newspaper and you accidentally glance at the obituaries to find an obituary for you? First thing you might want to make sure is that other "living" people can see you and you are not sleeping.

The exact incidence happened with David Cerda from Dallas, Texas.

I woke up to texts and phone calls, went out to Facebook and people were talking about it on Facebook, Cerda said.

His mom, Maria Cerda, was flooded with phone calls and people dropping in to console her.

A lady was telling me she was fixing to bake a cake, and I said, 'No, don't; David is not dead,' she said.

It seems like one of David's acquaintances had mental issues and had submitted the obituary. Despite strict policies, Dallas Morning News never checked if it was genuine or not.

The Dallas Morning News says this fell through the cracks. "We are deeply sorry that we did not catch this falsified submission, and are checking into the source," the paper said in a statement. "We have apologized directly to Mr. Cerda and have also run an apology in today's newspaper. We are reviewing our fact-checking procedures to ensure the accuracy of the information contained in the Obituaries." The Dallas Morning News said they do not just print any death notice that comes their way; they confirm the information with a family member and even call the funeral home to make sure it's legitimate. Miraculously he was woken up by alleged divine intervention to find his house full of smoke. He rushed to the burning pan and placed it under water. Next day while doing the washing, he saw the face of Jesus has been burned on the pan.

Bachelor Toby, who works for Halifax bank in Stockport, admits most of his friends are doubting Thomases at the story but insists it is true.

He said: "Its a crying shame that no-one believes me! I went onto the internet and found other things that had Jesus on them, like pizza, but they were just outlines. Mine has eyes and a nose and everything.

"Ive recently started going to church again so Im glad I took part in the Shrove Tuesday tradition."

<![CDATA[2010 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix Preview]]> Well, here we are the start of another season and it will be the 4th full season covered on this blog. Amazing. The start of a new season is always very exciting with fans, drivers and teams alike all feeling like children on the night before chirstmas, the excitement and anticiapation hard to cope with. Few aerodynamic regulation changes, and just a handful of rule changes mean that there is a slight sense of continuity into this season, just to remind you the poitns now score down to 10th and first place scores 25. Also to remind you that in-race refuelling is banned.

Thankfully, the rules have stayed fairly similar as the main talking points of this off-season have been the drivers and these pesky new teams. Michael Schumacher is the headline grabber, coming back to race but this time with Mercedes. Fernando Alonso jumped ship to Ferrari (at last!), Jenson Button is over at McLaren for the titanic battle of Britain against Lewis Hamilton and the Senna name returns as the late great Ayrtons nephew, Bruno, joins the sport.

The new teams are almost all here, with the exception of USF1 who failed quite spectacularly it has to be said and Hispania who only launched the car last week. Stefan GP, the Serbian team will not be racing as they weretold to pack up and go home by the FIA.

Right, now to the race preview.

Were starting the season in Bahrain, the Arabian circuit hosted the first race once before in 2006 while Melbourne hosted the 2006 Commonwealth Games and couldnt cope with the Grand Prix at the same time. The track has had a couple of changes, which havent been well recieved (see Mark Webbers comments below).

Pre-Race Driver Comments

Bruno Senna (Bra)- HRT: I am enjoying it already! I have had a pretty tough year so far, starting from the end of 2008 all the way to this year, where things have got there only to be taken away. I was very low on expectation that the team was going to happen because we had spent so much time trying to be sold, trying to be bailed and this and that.

Nico Rosberg (Deu) Mercedes: Im going into the season very optimistically. I feel very, very comfortable in the car, very confident. But at the same time I know its going to be as difficult as ever, because obviously I have a rather strong team-mate. So well have to wait and see.

Karun Chandhok (Ind) HRT: It is going to be extremely tough. We havent even done a shakedown so its no secret it is going to be a bloody tough weekend. I think if you look on the plus side, at least Dallara are a respected [racing] car manufacturer and they have built cars before, so we should be in a slightly better position than if it was with someone else doing it independently.

Felipe Massa (Bra) Ferrari: I am very happy and very motivated that we can start the championship in a better way not just than last year, which was not a very good year, but also than the other championships. My expectation [for this weekend] is definitely to score many points. Even if maybe we dont know if it will be possible to win, it will be important to start the championship in the right direction. Thats our expectation and thats what were looking for.

Mark Webber (Aus) Red Bull: [Speaking about the circuit changes] Nothing but tight corners. Accelerate, brake, accelerate, brake

Timo Glock (Deu) Virgin: Here we are, heading into our first race, and Im very excited. Were as ready as we can be; were a small team but we have the resources and people to keep building something special together and that is what we must all keep in mind as we progress. Our objective remains to be the best of the new teams and that particular race starts this weekend.

Jenson Button (Gbr) McLaren: Im actually really looking forward to the start of the season. It will be a thrill and an honour to sit on the grid with the number 1 on my car itll actually be the first time in my car racing career that thats ever happened but I wont be spending too much time thinking about the drivers who want to take it away from me.

They braved the weather to strip down to their bras and pants outside a subway station in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, and danced for passers-by.

<![CDATA[Russia says: You Want to do What?]]> The Nabucco pipeline has been used to slap Russia in the face time and time again. This pipeline has also been touted as the answer to break the Russian Bear's hold on Europe...

But there has been a huge flaw from day one and that is getting gas to fill the pipeline. It seems that in the last few months Europe has come to a realization that Russia is the only way to fill the pipeline that is to save Europe from the Evil Russian Bear... (interesting thought...)

Now - South Stream and Nabucco, the two major southern European pipeline projects, linking the Caspian region with Europe, should join forces! According to Paolo Scaroni, head of Italian energy company, Eni. He even states that even some of the pipeline sections should be combined to save costs and be more efficient!

Now that is a sure fire way to get gas to fill the pipeline, that cannot be filled (Nabucco): Get the one gas line guaranteed to be filled (South Stream), to connect to your empty pipeline. That way if the day comes that you can fill the Nabucco pipeline because you blow up Iran and get that huge gas field to fill Nabucco with, minus the sanctions of course. You can just cut the Russian gas off and thumb your noses again at Russia...

Isn't that a sweet thing to do?

<![CDATA[Lindsay Lohan’s mum backs her in “milkaholic” ad lawsuit]]> Lindsay Lohans mum Dina has jumped in to back her daughters multi-million pound legal battle over an advert which allegedly used the actress name and poked fun at her personal problems.

Lohan, 23, is seeking 66.7 million pounds in damages and compensation in connection with the promo for financial firm E-Trade, which depicted a baby girl called Lindsay as a boyfriend stealer and a milkaholic.

The Mean Girls star filed a lawsuit against the advert, which aired on U.S. TV during the Super Bowl last month, on March 8 at Nassau County Supreme Court.

The actress lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, alleges company bosses used Lohans name and characterisation without paying her or asking for her approval, thus violating her rights.

But chiefs at the advertising firm behind the commercial claim they chose the name Lindsay at random.

And now Dina has waded in to defend her daughters decision to sue, insisting the advert reduced the actress to tears during the Super Bowl celebrations.

She claims the actress called her after the Super Bowl extremely upset.

She said, Mommy, help me. This is wrong. How can they do this? the Daily Star quoted her as telling The New York Post.

Dina is adamant the commercial was aimed at her daughter insisting the name Lindsay has as much recognition as other single-word monikers, used by stars such as Madonna and Cher.

Theyre little babies doing this, mocking another child whos just trying to survive Hollywood, basically, she said.

Im just basically glad I took a stand. Im not going to let them do this to us anymore. Everyone knows Lindsay, like Cher or Madonna, she added.

He is currently serving sentence in prison as two years ago the man was given 25 life sentences. The interesting part about the story is that more than 100 people from different social agencies had visited the family but did nothing to prosecute the monster and help the daughters.



Highlights about the story -
- The two sisters were raped starting 1980 when the daughters were 8 and 10.
- He would rape them 2-3 times a week.
- He would rape the sisters even when they were pregnant.
- The sisters would have to take it in turns to babysit their children while the other was forced to have sex with him.
- If they refused, they were punched, kicked and sometimes held to the flames of a gas fire, burning their eyes and arms.
- Called himself "Gaffer" and tookpleasure in fathering children by his daughters!
- He moved the family 67 times to maintain the secret.
- Family was seen by more than 100 people from 28 different agencies but none did anything!

Trail Judge Alan Goldsack QC told the court that questions would inevitably be asked as to what professionals had 'been doing for the last 20 years'.

James Baird, representing the defendant, launched a stinging attack on social services in both Sheffield and Lincolnshire.

He said: 'It must be inconceivable to those who have listened to this case that these offences have been carried out, in this day and age in a so-called civilised society, over such a long time and with such consequences, without them being reported or investigated.'

After the case, a member of the women's family claimed that their father been a 'baby farmer' - getting them pregnant so he could siphon off the children's benefits for his own personal use.

The women's brother separately blamed social services for not protecting the family, saying authorities should have recognised something was wrong during his father's quarter-of-a-century campaign of abuse.

He said: 'I blame a lot of people. I blame people that were meant to be looking after children because we were all meant to be under child protection at five, so I blame the people that should have been doing their jobs looking after us.'Source: www.dailymail.co.uk

The agencies have issued apologies to the daughters.

In issuing the apology all the agencies gave assurances that changes in the safeguarding process now offered better protection to children.

"We are committed to work relentlessly to do all we can to minimise the risk of this happening again."

The case is very similar to Austrian man Joseph Fritzl's case who kept his daughter Elisabeth locked in a cellar for 24 years while raping her repeatedly. Joseph had seven children with the daughter all of whom were kept in the cellar. Fritzl was sentenced to 12 years in prison last October.

The story reminds you that there are really sick people out there who need to be identified early and incarcerated for life. Please watch out for these monsters and report for any suspicion!

The wife's breasts was producing more milk than needed to feed the baby, so she started freezing excess milk. The chef started thinking of ways of using it and voila, the idea came - why not make cheese out of it?

Daniel said: 'Being a chef, you're curious about anything in terms of flavour - you look out for something new and what you can do with it.

'After two weeks ageing, it was somewhat like a raw-milk cheese - it had all the flavours in there. It tastes just like really sweet cow's milk.

It wasn't like, Hey, this is such an amazing cheese. It's just like, Can you use human milk? Yes, you absolutely can!

'Our baby has plenty of back-up mother's milk in the freezer, so whoever wants to try it is welcome to try it as long as the supply lasts.'

He added that his 'cooking instincts are rather natural... such as sourcing ingredients from the local market... but this is a whole other level of natural.

Step-by Step
My Spouses Mommy Milk Cheese Making Experiment
(basic recipe using 8 cups of any milk - yields about pound cheese)

2 cups mothers milk
2 cups milk (just about any animal milk will work)
1-teaspoon yogurt (must be active cultured yogurt)
1/8-tablet rennet (buy from supermarket, usually located in pudding section)
1 teaspoon sea salt such as Baline

1. Inoculate milks by heating (68 degree Fahrenheit) then introduce starter bacteria (active yogurt) then let stand for 6 8 hours at room temperature, 68F covered with a lid. Bacteria will grow in this way and convert milk sugar (lactose) to lactic acid. You can detect its presence by the tart/sour taste.
2. After inoculating the milk heat to 86 degrees Fahrenheit then add rennet (I use tablets which I dissolve in water) and stir throughout. Cover pot and dont disturb for an hour until clean break stage is achieved, meaning with a clean spoon lift a small piece of curd out of the milk - if it is still soft and gel-like let pot stand for an hour longer. If curds break clean cut with a knife into a squares (cut inside the pot a -inch cube pattern).
3. Raise temperature slowly continuously stirring with a pastry spatula (this will prevent clumping of cut curd). This is what I call the ricotta stage if you like this kind of fresh cheese here it is. For cheese with a little bit more of texture heat curds to 92 degree Fahrenheit - for soft curd cheese, or as high 102oF for very firm cheese. The heating of the curd makes all the difference in the consistency of the cheese. When heated the curd looks almost like scrambled eggs at this point (curd should be at bottom of pot in whey liquid).
4. Pour curd through a fine strainer (this will separate curd from whey) then transfer into a bowl and add salt and mix with a pastry spatula (this will prevent curd from spoiling). Whey can be drank - it is quite healthy and its protein is very efficiently absorbed into the blood stream making it a sought-after product in shakes for bodybuilders.
5. Give curd shape by lining a container with cheese cloth (allow any excess of cheese cloth to hang over edges of container). Transfer drained, warm curd in the cheese cloth lined container (I used a large plastic quart containers like a large Chinese take- out soup container and cut 4 holes in the bottom with the tip of my knife). Fold excess cheese cloth over top of cheese then weight curd down (with second container filled with water or such) then store in refrigerator (14 hours or so put container into a second larger container this will catch draining whey liquid).
6. Take pressed curd out of container (flip container upside-down then unwrap carefully not to damage structure of pressed curd). Rewrap pressed curd with new cheese cloth then age in refrigerator for several weeks (cheese will form a light brown skin around week two this is normal). Age cheese longer for a more pronounced/sharper cheese flavor.

I got a funny joke for you. Imagine, you are driving down the road and a police officer signals for you to stop. Like a good law abiding citizen, you follow orders. When the policeman approaches, you are ready to ask what you did wrong, but before you can say a word the policeman asks you to move your car into a specific position perpendicular to traffic.

This is a generally odd request, but you do as you are told and wait to talk to the police officer. The police officer quickly walks up to the car and tells you to stay put, then immediately leaves. Your first thought, "what an ass", but again you do as you're told. As you are sitting in your car you look around and notice that you aren't the only one in this position, it turns out there are half a dozen others also in the road. The formation seems very strange, all the cars are blocking 2 of the 3 available lanes, and traffic has virtually slowed to a crawl.

Next thing you know, you look up the road and you see an Audi barreling down the road going full speed with a squadron of cop cars behind it. It dawns on you, you are part of a human shield ... but that psycho isn't stopping. FUCK, he is coming straight for your car.

3 ... 2 ... 1 ... BAM!!!! The Audi plows through your car, sending you into neighboring cars, wrecking your car and theirs. The cop cars then squeeze through the newly made hole, further damaging you car as they scrape by.

You then learn that the driver of the Audi is an armed and extremely dangerous criminal ... so, if he even managed to stop, if he lived he would likely come out shooting. Luckily, nobody is hurt 'too badly', but what about our cars?

So, whats the punchline? Now that your car is wrecked, along with everyone else's, the cops simply tell you to go fuck yourself and drive off ... The Aristocrats!

<![CDATA[Pregnant woman beats up husband for falling asleep on the couch when he was supposed to take the dogs out]]> Men are very well known for procrastinating and it is normal for the wife to get irritated and angry for the behaviour but 25-year old Jennifer Diservio took the matter a little too seriously and beat her husband, 42-year old Thomas Diservio, back and blue after he forgot to take the dogs out and fell asleep on the couch.

The incident happened in the living room of the couple's trailer, which is located on the north side of Fort Dade Avenue in Brooksville.

Thomas Diservio, 42, told deputies his wife became "irate" after he fell asleep on the couch when he was supposed to take the dogs out, according to the incident report.

At that point, Diservio said his wife hit him on the mouth and pulled at his t-shirt. Deputies say Jennifer Diservio, 25, is six months pregnant, suffers from bipolar disorder and had not been taking medication.

Jennifer Diservio was taken to the Hernando County jail, charged with felony domestic battery and held without bond.

Deputies say Diservio has "numerous prior convictions for battery and domestic battery," according to the incident report.

The Nord Stream pipeline development has exposed treasures that were not expected! The latest discovery was made during a search of the seabed east of the Swedish island of Gotland by the Nord Stream consortium, which is building a 750-mile pipeline in the Baltic Sea. The 12 wrecks were found in a 30-mile-long and 1.2-mile-wide corridor of the sea.

The find is considered to be exceptional because the Baltic sea has a lower salt level and by that one condition, a sea worm that attacks and eats wood does not exist in the sea...

This means that the ships, some as old as 800 years. Are in fantastic shape. Nord Stream has promised to not destroy the hulls of the ships and will do everything necessary to make sure everyone interested can find and research these ships. The ships found do not lay in the path of the pipeline so that danger is mute...

<![CDATA[Russia is the Tail of Two Mouths!]]> There are several big issues that are circling the Russian news agencies: One is Russia joining NATO and the next is that the US and Russia are currently negotiating a successor to the START nuclear disarmament treaty.

Lavrov the Russian Foreign Minister has always made it clear that NATO is the "hind end of a donkey" and he was given normative support for this thinking recently:

Madeleine Albright, secretary of state under former President Bill Clinton and currently involved in the development of a new NATO strategic concept, has only nurtured Lavrov's skepticism. Washington, she says, will never allow Russia to influence NATO strategy: "We will not allow the tail to wag the dog." (Link)

That is where the truth lies and to think different would be a total lack of empiricism...

As far as the successor to the START treaty: America has created a quandary for itself! Russia who has stayed firm on her commitments, thoughts and factors. Is seeing an America that talks out of two mouths. One of the most important factors to Russia is American missile defense in countries around Russian borders.

As Prime Minister Putin has eloquently stated in a recent speech in the Pacific coastal city of Vladivostok.

If Russia did nothing to oppose the missile defense system, he added, the other side would "feel completely safe under its missile shield, and it would do as it pleased. The balance would be gone, and aggression in politics and business would grow abruptly." Putin's conclusion is that "Russia needs new offensive systems."

So as America plays games of decisive destruction of confirmatory relations with major world powers such as China and Russia - America keeps wondering why no-one wants to trust her...

<![CDATA[How To Play Pinball Using Your Brain Power?]]> Too lazy to push the paddle buttons on your pinball game? Well Berlin Brain-Computer Interface research consortium has developed a device which now allows you to play pinball using just your brain waves to control the paddles.

Joking aside this new technology was demonstrated at the recent ceBIT Technology fair and shows what can be achieved with current cerebral electric activity technology . Check out the video after the jump to see the device in action.

The system records cerebral electric activity through an electroencephalogram (EEG), in basic terms the electrodes attached to the scalp via the headgear. The right and left flippers were controlled through thoughts of right or left hand movements by the player.

<![CDATA[Cyber Criminals are Leaving Traditional Bank Robbers in the Dust]]> With cyber crime growing at an exponential rate every year, it is a bit distressing to learn that they have now surpassed traditional bank robbers in total loot stolen in the 3rd quarter of 2009 ... no word yet on the 4th quarter, unfortunately.

Security is a major concern, but there are numerous ways to get at and manipulate data. Some of the most effective, it turns out, is social engineering. With criminal organizations becoming more attuned to the technological front, and even countries taking up technology as a means for fighting wars, the fear of a total technological meltdown is now almost warranted.

<![CDATA[Good idea: Asking helpful policewoman for directions. Bad idea: While driving a stolen car]]> It seems that common sense isn't so common after all. Generally, when partaking in illegal events, you would think to avoid officers of the law. Apparently, not everyone got the memo, and so we get funny situations like this.

Friday around 10:30 p.m. a SUV pulled along side Lubrano's vehicle and the driver asked for directions to the interstate. Lubrano gave the driver the directions, but said she had to repeat them several times as the driver was having trouble understanding them.Source: www.officer.com

For those that are lacking in the common sense department, police officers are generally paranoid about everything, that's there job. So, obviously, officer Lubrano ran the plates of the SUV and found out it was stolen. Police officers generally have radios, for occasions such as these, which they use to alert other officers of such events. Hence, Lubrano called to her police buddies to alert them that a stolen vehicle is heading towards the interstate ... yeah, another good rule of thumb is to avoid letting the police know where you are going when doing illegal activities.

It didn't take long for other officers to spot the vehicle driving down the interstate, and then an even shorter period of time to catch up to said idiots. Stupid criminals are what make my days all the more fun.

This moron, who goes by the name of Ronnie Ricks, is now being held at St. Tammany Parish Jail on a $22,000 bond. I get the feeling that this isn't the last we hear of Ronnie Ricks.

Soon, the Jewish Agency will figure out that it can justify its pitiful existence by bringing another 70,000 Africans to Israel.

The reasoning is nonsensical. If the Africans were remotely related to Jews three thousand years ago, whats the deal now? They are pagan, Christian, and Muslimnot Jewish. That they put the Star of David on their tombstones only proves that they are fakes: Jews did not start commonly using the star until the nineteenth century.

In Spain and some regions of Ukraine, a quarter of the population have Jewish ancestry. Does that make them Jewish?

A proper study of Lembas Jewishness would involve ethnography rather than genetics. One must carefully learn about their old practices rather than quasi-Jewish beliefs implanted in them by Christian missionaries. If, besides being of remote Jewish origin, they have maintained significant Jewish practices throughout their history, then they must be welcomed in Israel. Otherwise, let them stay among the Christianized blacks in Africa.

<![CDATA[MJ ‘suffered fits of rage due to financial troubles’]]> Michael Jacksons former bodyguards have revealed that the King of Pop became frustrated during the final years of his life because of financial difficulties.

Bill Whitfield and Mike Garcia, who served as the Jacksons minders, revealed that he often suffered fits of rage.

We were asked to leave hotels because the credit card on file was denied, the New York Post quoted Whitfield as saying on Good Morning America.

Also, Whitfield added: We smile about it, but its really more painful and hurtful.

He got so frustrated he threw my cell phone out the window, through the window and broke the glass.

And he looked at me and said, 'Bill, you're going to need a new phone.'

The bodyguards also mentioned that he tried to avoid Jacksons three kids Prince, Paris and Blanket from seeing images of their father on magazine covers.

He added: I'll be ahead of him, because I know he's coming this way, and I'm looking at magazine racks that may have something about him on them and I'll turn it around. Sometimes he's seen them, and you would actually see him take it and turn them around so the kids didn't see them.

<![CDATA[O'Neal stunned at late girlfriend Fawcett’s omission from ‘Oscars In Memoriam’]]> Farrah Fawcetts log-time boyfriend Ryan O'Neal has expressed shock at the actresss omission from the Oscars In Memoriam segment despite having been a member of the Academy for 40 years.

It was a terrible decision and very hurtful Farrah was a member of the Academy for over 40 years and we could not believe she did not get a mention, the Herald Sun quoted O Neal, as saying.

The traditional video montage of stars who died in the past year including such familiar faces as Patrick Swayze, Brittany Murphy and Michael Jackson, but inexplicably omitted the Charlies Angels star.

His daughter and Oscar winner Tatum O'Neal is also planning to join her father in insisting the Academy address the omission.

Quite frankly, we were stunned at the decision not to include her in the tribute and I feel that the Academy should be scolded for that, everyone was shocked. Both Tatum and I were very upset and we intend to write a letter to the Academy to try and get an explanation for this oversight on their behalf, O Neal said.

However, Fawcett's exclusion wasn't an accident, according to a spokeswoman for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

I would not say that it was an oversight. No matter how carefully and how conscientiously people address who is included, there are people who just simply can't be, said Leslie Unger, spokeswoman for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

In any given year there will always be some people that other people think should have been included and that there's more justification for one person versus another. It is impossible to include everybody, she added.

Fans of Fawcett flooded networking sites with their grievances on Sunday.

Fawcett died on June 25, 2009, the same day as Michael Jackson, after a long battle with cancer. She was 62.

A randy German couple brought traffic to a halt when the twosome stepped outside their car and began having sex in the middle of a busy street.

Onlookers say they romped for nearly 10 minutes as vehicles became distracted by the unusual sight. I nearly crashed my cab, its not something you see every day in the middle of the road, a shocked taxi driver revealed.

A witness even stepped close enough to snap some very revealing photos of the brazen act: A busty womanwith her top undoneis seen on top of her lover who has his pants down to his ankles.

He turned the images over to the authorities.

Police say that the sex was indecent and they want to question the couple.

<![CDATA[Saddest Video Ever: Watch this daughter's tribute to dying mother]]> Losing your mother to cancer is a very big thing for any teenager. Sarah Phillips, 16, did something different - she made this heart wrenching tribute for her dying mother Debbie who was nearing the end of her four year old battle with cervical cancer.

"I had this song [Autumn] in mind as something that was really appropriate because there is this line that says: 'You still live on in my father's eyes.' Mummy also liked Paulo Nutini's music too.

"In the run-up to mummy's death, I thought it was absolutely perfect but it was unrealistic for me to be able to sing it live at her funeral [because she would be too upset]," said Sarah.

"So I recorded it on my mobile phone in my bedroom at about 10pm [on February 10]. I looked the lyrics up on my computer it was the first time I had seen them.

"I had said my 'goodbye' to mummy the day before. It was exactly as you would expect. I said: 'I love you.' She just said she wanted me to be happy, but she could not speak very much because her breathing was laboured.

"She was upset by what she would miss our [her three children's] weddings, having grandchildren. She would have been an amazing grandmother."

Sarah mentioned the recording to her father three days after her mother's death and a family friend, Charlie Mole, a professional score composer and songwriter, helped edit it and put it to music.

The video clips came from 70 hours of family recordings mainly recorded during family holidays abroad.

"I never appreciated how much mummy suffered because her priority was always to make sure we were not upset by her illness," Sarah said.

"She was incredibly selfless everything she did was for other people. I was always very close to my mother and we have always been a close-knit family. I have wonderful memories of us all together."

<![CDATA[Extreme Mid-Life Crisis: Man chops off "virgin" wife's head because she refused to have children after 21 years of marriage]]> Philippe Cousin, 53, has been married to Nicole Cousin, 47, for 21 years but they had never had sex due to Nicole's fear that she would pass on her fathers multiple sclerosis through his genes. Philippe had started realizing that he would be 50 soon without any kids of his own. The whole issue has caused lot of stress build up in his head and during a domestic dispute between the two, he picked up a kitchen knife and chopped off his wife's head.

On April 16th 2007, Cousin telephoned his local police station in Arras, northern France, and told an officer: Excuse me for disturbing you, Ive killed my wife.

In a fit of rage following a domestic argument, he had taken a kitchen knife to her neck before slicing her head off.

This morning he appeared before a judge at the Pas-de-Calais assizes at Saint-Omer, near Calais, facing life in prison for murder.

He denies the charge, pleading diminished responsibility, but faces life in prison.

The court heard how Cousins also told police: Im sorry for the work which I ve given you.

'My wife shouted my name out, I decapitated her. You realise that, and Im not mad!

While on remand he said his wifes inability to have children lay at the heart of the couples domestic difficulties.

She feared that she would pass on her fathers multiple sclerosis through his genes, the court heard.

This meant that every time he tried to have sex he was rebuffed. An autopsy confirmed that Mrs Cousins was indeed a virgin when she died, even though she married aged 21.

Defending barrister Didier Robiquet said that the problems came to a head two weeks before Cousins 50th birthday in what was described as pressure cooker syndrome.

His wife had threatened to leave him but he had never undergone any psychiatric treatment because of this, said Mr Robiquet.

He had been hugely frustrated over more than twenty years and this built up into a terrifying repressed aggression which finally exploded. He did not feel he was completely in control of his actions.Source: www.dailymail.co.uk

<![CDATA[NH high school teacher arrested for sexting student]]>

Sexting is (unfortunately for parents) popular among teens and tweens. Some of the teen sexters have even been charged with child porn because of it. Many think that is unnecessary, but in this case, with a New Hampshire teacher, the door to jail seems wide open.

Melinda Dennehy, 41 and a mother of two, is an English teacher at Londonderry High School. Despite her degree, she apparently did not read, or did not understand, laws on indecent exposure, however.

Melinda Dennehy turned herself in to Londonderry police last Friday. She reportedly sent four "sexy" shots of herself to a 16-year-old male student at that high school. The student thought the pictures were "hot" enough that he forwarded the images to his friends.

According to the police, the pictures were sent two months ago. The teenager also told police that Melinda Dennehy had "continuously sent him text messages." Many of those were, he said, sexually explicit. He added that she "kissed him twice on two separate occasions" in a classroom.

According to the local Londonderry website, the charge of indecent exposure leveled at Melinda Dennehy is considered a Class B Felony. The maximum punishment is up to seven years in state prison and a fine of $4,000.

Dennehy was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail; she is due to be arraigned in the Derry District Court on April 30, 2010. Dennehy is to have no contact with anyone under the age of sixteen and was ordered to stay away from all Londonderry School property.

Sexting is a word that combines sex and texting (or text messaging). As previously noted, child pornography charges have been brought against some teens due to the practice. In response, the question of when sexting should be a crime, particularly among consensual teens, remains an open issue.

Im thinking of a cheeseburger

He wasn't charged about "thinking of a cheeseburger", but violating the city begging ordinance.

Gastonia City Ordinance 5-17 makes it unlawful for anyone to beg or offer to work for money or other compensation by accosting one another or forcing oneself upon the company of another. The citation did not state whether McLaughlin had been approaching vehicles.

McLaughlin was charged with unlawful solicitation under the city ordinance and was jailed under a $500 secured bond.

A lot of people got disappointed with "Avatar" losing to "Hurt Locker" on lot of awards. Personally, I liked both the movies a lot but they seem to be in a different genre. <![CDATA[Something fishy about Iran]]> A week after Iran offered us the best opportunity for an attack, Israel did not carry it out. Time is running out quickly as Iran has enriched its 4% uranium to 20%, thus greatly reducing the size of its stocks. Smaller stocks will be easier to hide.

After three months of enrichment, no Israeli attack will be able to eliminate Irans nuclear stocks.

Every sane person understands that sanctions are futile. Not only they are torpedoed by Russia and China, but even the strongest sanctions wont break Irans back within the few months the ayatollahs need to finish their bomb.

Irans Russian S-300 SAM do not change the situation. In the current political climate, the Russians wont man the batteries with their own personnel, and it would take Iranians months to learn to operate them reliably, if they ever do. Most importantly, the S-300 is too small to defend against a missile strike. Two S-300 will take out some 40 missiles, but Israel can launch about a thousand Tomahawk-type missiles.

<![CDATA[Chandhok Confident HRT Can Score Points]]> Karun Chandhok, the rookie who will be racing alongside Bruno Senna at HRT this season says he is confident that by the European rounds of the season his team will be within point scoring positions.

Chandhok, who previously raced in GP2 and tested for Red Bull, says he expects initially things will be tough but HRT can prove themselves worthy contenders.

The team looked unlikely to even make the grid until 2 weeks ago when they were bailed out, and then the car launched a few days ago in Spain.

Our goal early on in the season is to show the world that we are a credible company, Chandhok told Indian newspaper the Deccan Herald. The focus is to gain some mileage, reliability and experience in the first season.

Well probably be off the mark in the first four races but from Catalunya, Spain, we will prove a challenge. You never know, we could also bag some points late in the season.

Chandhok also said he felt no ill feeling towards Vijay Mallya who runs Force India with regards to him not giving him a race seat despite it being sold as a national team.

He called me and wished me well, Chandhok said of Mallya. Force India required something else at that point of time and they have now turned into a very good team.

I hold nothing against Vijay. I wanted to drive in F1 and it didnt matter to me which team I drove for. My priority is to stay in F1 and give it my best.

I will consider driving for Force India if an offer does pop up and if they are still on a high, in terms of racing.

<![CDATA[Happy International Womens Day]]> Today is March 8th, International Women's Day. While many western countries do not acknowledge this as a day of celebration, International Women's Day is celebrated throughout the world. Unlike Mother's Day, where people simply congratulate their Mother's or just a Mother in General, International Women's Day celebrates that which is most important to Men around the world, the Woman.

It is a rare case that a man doesn't have an important woman in his life. The most important that comes to mind is, of course, the mother. However, there is always the Sisters, Wife, Daughters or just female friends. Today is the day that the women need to receive some level of acknowledgement for their being. Bring them flowers, chocolate or simply just let them know how much they mean to you. Congratulating your female coworkers is also a good idea, letting them know that they are appreciated for their effort.

International Womens Day started as a Socialist holiday, which is likely why it never caught on in the Western World. However, its meaning surpasses socialism, or politics in general, and so I would love to see it as a true international holiday where everyone can enjoy it. Its history is best summed up in Wikipedia:

The first IWD was observed on 28 February 1909 in the United States following a declaration by the Socialist Party of America. Among other relevant historic events, it came to commemorate the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. The idea of having an international women's day was first put forward at the turn of the 20th century amid rapid world industrialization and economic expansion that led to protests over working conditions.

In 1910 the first international women's conference was held in Copenhagen (in the labour-movement building located at Jagtvej 69, which until recently housed Ungdomshuset) by the Second International and an 'International Women's Day' was established, which was submitted by the important German Socialist Clara Zetkin, although no date was specified.[1] The following year, 1911, IWD was marked by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland, on March 19.[2] However, soon thereafter, on March 25, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in New York City killed over 140 garment workers. But still, women's day must be celebrated as are other holidays."

Today, International Women's Day has gone well beyond mere Socialist states and has entered the world market as a true International Holiday. Most countries that celebrate International Women's Day have declared it a National Holiday with all businesses closed. However, some simply recognize the days importance but still ask its citizens to work. The following countries recognize International Women's Day as a National Holiday:

Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, China, Croatia, Cuba, Georgia, Guinea-Bissau, Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Madagascar, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nepal, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Zambia.

Numerous other countries recognize International Women's Day, such as Cameroon and Romania, but they have not made it a National Holiday. This is unfortunate because there is nothing quite as important as the women of our society.

Having lost control of both the White House and the Congress -- and under mounting pressure from the Far Right -- the Republican Party has been caught plotting to launch an aggressive campaign of stoking fears of the country moving toward "socialism" under President Obama and the majority Democrats in Congress to raise money for the upcoming midterm election cycle.

At the same time, a conservative group with ties to former Vice President Dick Cheney's daughter Liz has come under fire for launching a blistering Web ad that questions the patriotism of seven Justice Department lawyers assigned to handle the cases of terrorism suspects -- branding the unnamed attorneys "the al-Qaida 7" and mocking the DOJ as the "Department of Jihad."

These two developments have prompted fierce accusations by liberals -- and even some former Bush administration attorneys -- that the GOP is stooping to outright fearmongering reminiscent of the infamous "Red Scare" whipped up in the early 1950s by late Senator Joseph McCarthy (R-Wisconsin).

PLANS USED CRUDE IMAGE OF OBAMA IN WHITEFACE AS THE JOKER

The Republican National Committee was forced into damage-control mode after plans to raise money for the upcoming midterm election campaign by aggressively pursuing a drive to "save the country from trending toward socialism" under Obama were exposed by Politico.com, which obtained a copy of the plans.

Incredibly, the confidential 72-page document, which was prepared by the partys finance staff, was left behind at the conclusion of a February 18 party retreat in Boca Grande, Florida. It was picked up by a Democratic operative, who furnished it to Politico.com.

"What can you sell when you do not have the White House, the House, or the Senate...?" the document asks. "Save the country from trending toward Socialism!" comes the reply.

Several of the document's pages include crude caricatures of top Democratic leaders, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) as Cruella DeVille from the Disney movie "101 Dalmatians" and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) as the cartoon character Scooby-Doo.

Most controversial of all, however, was a caricature of Obama as the Joker, the psychopathic nemesis of Batman in "The Dark Knight." That caricature of the nation's first black president in whiteface -- employed frequently by Tea Party movement activists -- has been denounced by critics of the Tea Party movement as racially offensive.

GOP FORCED INTO DAMAGE-CONTROL MODE AFTER LEAK

Revelation of the RNC fundraising document on Wednesday forced the GOP into full-scale damage-control mode, with RNC Communications Director Douglas Heye frantically issuing an e-mail to major Republican donors and to the media to downplay its significance and seeking to distance GOP National Chairman Michael Steele from it.

"The document was used for a fundraising presentation Chairman Steele did not attend, nor had he seen the document," Heye wrote in his e-mail. "Fundraising documents are often controversial. Obviously, the Chairman disagrees with the language and finds the use of such imagery to be unacceptable. It will not be used by the Republican National Committee -- in any capacity -- in the future."

By Sunday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky), confronted with the controversy, acknowledged that the fundraising presentation "was not helpful" to the party. Appearing on ABC's "This Week," McConnell said that he "cant imagine why anybody would have thought that was helpful."

McConnell refused to say whether he thought that Chairman Steele and others at the RNC should be held accountable for the document. "I don't run the RNC. That's up to them. But I don't like it, and I don't know anybody who does," he said.

BAD NEWS FOR RNC WHOSE COFFERS ARE DRYING UP

For Steele, the leak of the controversial fundraising document could not have come at a worse time. The GOP national chairman has come under fire from major party donors unhappy with what they say is Steele's lavish spending habits since he was elected party chairman 14 months ago.

The feud has led to major donors turning away from the RNC and toward other GOP committees. Politico.com reported February 23 that the RNC has raised $24 million since Steele took over as chairman -- down significantly from the $46 million it raised in 2005.

To make matters worse, according to campaign finance reports, a $23 million RNC surplus that Steele inherited when he took over has shrunk dramatically to $8.4 million a year later.

CHENEY GROUP'S AD BRANDS JUSTICE DEPARTMENT LAWYERS 'AL-QAIDA SEVEN'

Meanwhile, a growing number of critics on both the left and the right have denounced a vicious Web ad that attacks the Justice Department for its handling of terrorism cases.

The ad, posted by the right-wing group Keep America Safe -- which is led by Liz Cheney and Weekly Standard editor-in-chief Bill Kristol -- openly brands as "The al-Qaida 7" seven lawyers hired by the Justice Department to handle terrorism-related cases who previously did pro bono work for Guantnamo detainees.

The ad demands that the identities of the seven lawyers be disclosed -- and even goes so far as to refer to the Justice Department's initials, DOJ, as the "Department of Jihad."

Posted on YouTube on March 1, the ad has triggered a torrent of angry phone calls to Justice Department headquarters. It came just days after Liz Cheney, appearing at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, unleashed a blistering attack on the Obama administration, openly accusing the president of pursuing a dangerously misguided and ineffective approach to national security.

"We've learned he [Obama] wants to go around the world and apologize for this great country of ours," the daughter of the former vice president said. "We've learned he wants to give rights to terrorists, including the right to remain silent. We've learned he wants to move dangerous terrorists from Guantanamo onto the American homeland while he investigates and possibly prosecutes the CIA officers who interrogated them. That is not change we can believe in."

LIZ CHENEY ACCUSED OF JOE MCCARTHY-STYLE SMEAR

Such attacks by Cheney drew an equally blistering counterattack by Ken Gude, a national security expert at the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank. "It's not kind of like McCarthyism," wrote Gude in an e-mail to TalkingPointsMemo.com, "it is exactly what Joe McCarthy did with his anti-communist witchhunts. Cheney accuses the Attorney General of the United States of being a supporter of al-Qaida and running the 'Department of Jihad.'"

But Gude isn't alone. Several prominent lawyers who worked for the Bush administration also blasted Cheney. Former Solicitor General Ted Olson called Cheney's attacks "outrageous" and fiercely defended the DOJ lawyers handling the terror-related cases, saying they were acting "consistent with the finest traditions of the legal profession."

GOP TRIPS BACK TO MCCARTHY ERA TO REVIVE BLATANT FEARMONGERING

Devoid of fresh ideas to compete with the Democrats and to restore their own credibility, the Republicans -- under growing pressure from Tea Party activists and others to move even farther to the right -- appear to have decided to go "back to the future" sort to speak -- only in this case, back nearly 60 years to the fear-plagued 1950s.

That the new GOP aggressiveness would evoke memories of McCarthy's demagoguery should surprise no one who is well-versed in American history. The Wisconsin Republican's career had been marked by making accusations without providing a shred of proof to back them up, according to author Arthur Herman's 1999 book, Joseph McCarthy: Reexamining the Life and Legacy of America's Most Hated Senator.

Even before his infamous anti-communist witchhunts, McCarthy came under sharp criticism in the late 1940s when he lobbied for the commutation of death sentences given to a group of Nazi soldiers convicted of war crimes for carrying out the 1944 Malmedy massacre of American prisoners of war.

McCarthy was critical of the convictions because of allegations of torture during the interrogations that led to the German soldiers' confessions. He charged that the U.S. Army was engaged in a cover-up of judicial misconduct, but never presented any evidence to support his accusations. Shortly after this, a poll of the Senate press corps voted McCarthy "the worst U.S. senator" in office.

McCarthy shot to national prominence on February 9, 1950, when, while delivering a speech to the Republican Women's Club of Wheeling, West Virginia, he produced a piece of paper that he claimed contained a list of known communists working for the State Department.

MCCARTHY EXPLOITED FEARS GENERATED BY THE COLD WAR

From 1950 until he was censured by the Senate in 1954, McCarthy continued to exploit the fear of communism and to press his accusations that the Truman and later Eisenhower administrations were failing to deal with communists within its ranks. These accusations were made without McCarthy furnishing a shred of evidence to back them up, yet they received wide publicity, increased his approval rating, and gained him a powerful national following.

It was Herbert Block, the longtime editorial cartoonist for The Washington Post, who coined the term "McCarthyism" as a synonym for demagoguery, baseless defamation, and mudslinging. Later, it would be embraced by McCarthy himself and some of his supporters. "McCarthyism is Americanism with its sleeves rolled," McCarthy said in a 1952 speech, and later that year he published a book titled McCarthyism: The Fight For America.

By 1954 -- his demagoguery exposed by the legendary CBS newsman Edward R. Murrow and the televised Army-McCarthy hearings that same year -- many of McCarthy's fellow senators had had enough. On June 1, Senator Ralph Flanders (R-Vermont) blasted McCarthy, comparing him to Adolf Hitler and accusing him of spreading division and confusion. "Were the junior senator from Wisconsin in the pay of the Communists," said Flanders, "he could not have done a better job for them."

It was Flanders who introduced the Senate resolution that called for McCarthy's censure. The resolution passed on December 2, 1954 by a vote of 67 to 22, a greater-than-two-thirds majority in the then-96-member Senate (Alaska and Hawaii had not yet been admitted to the Union). McCarthy never recovered from his rebuke, either politically or physically. He plunged into alcoholism and died from cirrhosis of the liver in 1957.

Disregarding the smoking ban, the Smile hitmaker lit up at the MEN Arena in Manchester.

However, she apologized to the crowd for off key vocals.

Ive got a bout of bronchitis so sorry if my singing's a bit shit. Not that it's any good anyway, the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

Allen had flouted the smoking ban in Liverpool in December, forcing local authorities to reprimand her.

She was even fined last year for smoking onstage in Paris.

Smoking in public places is banned in both Britain and France since 2007.

Allen is currently in a tour with rapper Dizzee Rascal.

The singer had first cancelled plan Valentines Day marriage plan after the date was disclosed.

Since then he has been forced to cancel two more dates.

Now, Williams is apparently trying to find out the source of the leaks.

Robbie and Ayda are desperate to marry and start a new domesticated life together, the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

The insider added: But when their first day, February 14th, escaped into the public domain, Rob hit the roof. He has played out his relationship with Ayda largely behind closed doors and wanted it to stay that way.

They don't want a huge showbiz wedding with glossy magazines in attendance and flashbulbs going off.

So it is vitally important to both of them that it stays private with only a handful of people knowing where and when the event will be.

Two other dates were suggested almost as a test to see if and when they got leaked. He is determined to find the culprit and cull him or her from their circle of friends.

Meanwhile, Field can't wait to get married to the Bodies hitmaker.

She reportedly said: I can't wait to marry him. We're so in love, its a case of the sooner the better.

They are now expected to wed at year-end in a private ceremony in LA.

Andrew Tweedy, 29, said his 26-year-old sister had been so keen on becoming a mum and believed that Chelsea defender Cole was equally committed to a family.

She saw him as the father to their kids. Thats why she married him and thats why he has left her heartbroken, the Mirror quoted him as saying.

Having kids with him, becoming a mother, thats all Cheryl has ever really wanted. She comes from a big family we are all still close and the maternal instinct is really strong in her.

The public humiliation makes it 10 times worse, but for her not being able to start a family is the hardest part, he said.

He also revealed that Cheryl had told her family about the career break just before a string of women came forward to claim Cole had bedded them.

She planned to take time off once she returned from recording her first solo album in America.

I have spoken with Cheryl and she always thought she was going to have a family with Ashley. But trust is a big thing for Cheryl and that is another reason why Ashleys affairs have hit her so hard, Tweedy said.

To be honest I never ever thought he would get a second chance. But she took him back and gave him that second chance. I did not think she could take any more from him but she has.

He has ruined so many things for her. The biggest is the chance to start a family, he added.

<![CDATA[Video: Masked men with assault rifles and grenades in a daring daylight heist during a poker tournament]]> On the 4th day of Germany's biggest poker tournament held at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Berlin (Germany), a gang of six masked gunmen armed with assault rifles (AK47), machetes and grenades entered the venue with the target of stealing the 1million jackpot. Unconfirmed reports suggest that they ended in stealing more than 700,000 in cash.

A source told The Mail on Sunday: The gang had balaclavas, machine guns, hand grenades and machetes.

They made off with at least 700,000. Thank God everyones OK, apart from the injuries sustained when fleeing. The tournament continues tomorrow with armed police.

Police spokesman Carsten Mueller said four robbers in disguises forced employees to hand over money before escaping.

He said: Several people at the tournament were slightly injured when they panicked and fled.

He added that four of the raiders entered the hotel at 2.15pm from Potsdamer Platz, one of the German capitals most popular squares, while two others kept watch.

<![CDATA[Megan Mariah Barnes: Don't shave your privates while driving either!]]> 37-Year old Megan Mariah Barnes had to meet her boyfriend for a "special" visit but forgot to take care of the horrendous pubic hair around her privates. So, she decided - because she can't be late for the visit, she will shave them while driving. She asked her ex-husband Charles Judy, who was in the passenger seat, to hold the wheel while she would shave her pubes.Obviously, it didn't work as she rear-ended another car that was making a turn.


Barnes and Charles Judy were southbound in her Thunderbird at 11 a.m. when they slammed into the back of a 2006 Chevrolet pickup driven by David Schoff of Palm Bay. His passengers were a man and two women; the latter were treated for minor injuries at Lower Keys Medical Center, FHP spokesman Alex Annunziato said.

Schoff had slowed to about 5 mph to make a turn when the Thunderbird hit him, traveling about 45 mph, which was within the speed limit, Dunick said.

Barnes allegedly drove another half-mile, then switched seats with Judy, who allegedly claimed to be driving, Annunziato said.

"She jumps in the back seat and he moves over," Dunick said. "It was like the old comedy bit, 'Who's on first?' "

Burns on Judy's chest from the passenger-side airbag deploying belied their story, Dunick said. The airbag in the steering wheel did not deploy, he said.

Interestingly, both Megan and her thunderbird were not supposed to be on the road.

The day before the wreck, Barnes was convicted in an Upper Keys court of DUI with a prior and driving with a suspended license, said Monroe County Assistant State Attorney Colleen Dunne. Barnes was ordered to impound her car, and her driver's license was revoked for five years, after which time she must have a Breathalyzer ignition interlock device on any vehicle she drives, Dunne said. This story has too many questions here -

Why was the ex-husband doing in the car? Assisting her to shave her pubic hair? Or take care of the car while she has sex with her boyfriend? Was the "boyfriend" so punctual, that he couldn't have taken the regular "bikini wax" delay? Was the boyfriend so special that he wouldn't have liked her unshaved?

I will scrape off the last question, especially after looking at the hair on her head.

Makes you wonder, was she trying to make an "urgent" appointment with a "customer" instead?

Abdullah Barghouti, a terrorist serving 67 (!) life terms in Israeli jail, declared PM Netanyahu guilty of refusing prisoner exchange. In the warped Muslim mind, it is not the serial murderer who is guilty, but the prime minister who refused to submit to terrorist demands. It did not raise eyebrows in Israel that a convicted terrorist freely makes political declarations.

Turkish PM Erdogan claimed that the tomb of foremother Rachel was never Jewish and Netanyahu destabilized the Middle East by including it on the Jewish Heritage Sites list.

Wakf, an Islamic organization entrusted by mad Israelis with upkeep of the Temple Mount, defended the Fridays riots which left 18 policemen wounded. The preacher, mind you, merely asked good Muslims to defend their sites against Israelis.

The UNSC expressed concerns over the Temple Mount clashes. For some reason, the UN remains unconcerned with dozens of other conflicts throughout the world which claim millions lives.

Abbas, who depends on IDF for protection against Hamas and on Israeli treasury for his salary, joined the chorus of Jew-bashing.

Syria, which used to kill 20,000 Muslim Brotherhood members in a day, and 8,000 Palestinians on the other day, suddenly embraced pan-Arab feelings. Its secular Alawite regime lambasted Israel for desecrating Islamic sanctities that is, our Temple Mount.

Meanwhile, Jews remained quiet, abstained from name-calling and accusing the other side. So in the world news Arabs looked determined and righteously indignant while Jews silenced by their guilt.

I cant imagine what shes doing on The Marriage Ref giving advice to married couples, the Daily Star quoted him as telling the New York Post.

He added: I guess its kind of ironic. Everyone has their experiences regarding marriage: hers are maybe what not to do.
