NASA has recently teamed up with GM to build the latest in robotic technology, the Robonaut 2.  Nicknamed R2 (no, it isn't followed by D2), this robot is a step above the rest.  Each of its human like arms can lift 10 Kilograms, which I hear is substantially more than the competition can claim. As GM slowly rebuilds, its promise of scrapping the Big Block V8 has finally come to pass.  An engine dating back to 1958 has finally seen its end, may it RIP. Stockholm, Sweden GM has announced plans to close its Saab unit, yet another failed GM line.  Initially GM closed its Pontiac unit, next it took aim at its Saturn line, it sold off Opel and is attempting to finalize the Hummer deal.  Now that Saab is on the chopping block, GM has theoretically been responsible for laying off well over 50,000 workers. Overnight, yet another 911 call to the Windemere, FL house of Tiger Woods, as emergency crews transported a blonde, middle-aged woman to the very same hospital that Tiger Woods went to on Black Friday, when his "transgressions" began to become public. OnStar, the General Motors service that most people equate with getting into a car you have been locked out of, has been used to end a high speed pursuit. OnStar only began offering remote disabling in this manner earlier this year.Jose Ruiz's 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe was carjacked at gunpoint, but OnStar was used to both find the vehicle, and then disable the car's gas pedal. Here is an update on a subject that I have followed from the beginning: The European Union has been causing Germany tremendous headaches over the GM / Opel to Magna / Sberbank with the threats of antitrust issues. Detroit, USA Say goodbye to another American car brand - "Saturn". Car dealership operator Penske Automotive Group announced today that they cancelled plans to acquire General Motors' Saturn unit.
