Senator Bunning’s objection to the Democrats’ proposed legislation was that the...

BIZ: American Job Market Sheds 85,000 New Jobs, Strangely Unemployment Rate Holds at 10%
It is being reported that the number of unemployed rose by 85,000 in December due to layoffs. Strangely, the unemployment rate is holding steady at 10.2%. Currently, 15.3 Million people in the USA are unemployed, or more specifically claiming unemployment. The real figure is likely substantially higher after taking into account those that no longer are eligible for unemployment, or those that merely never filed.
Around 25 months ago, towards the start of the financial crisis, the...

BIZ: Gold and Oil Surge on Falling Dollar
With the US Dollar spinning out of control, commodity prices are reaching record highs. Gold just recently peaked at a record high of $1120, which strangely wasn't a big story in mainstream media outlet. While it is commendable that the Mainstream Media are trying to quell fears of the Recession, often stating that the Recession is now over, but Gold reaching a record high seems like a big story, no?
Gold's record high can be easily justified because of the Dollar's recent...

WORLD: Unemployment at New High. Real Rate at Staggering 16.8%
In August, the US economy shed another 216,000 jobs. This is substantially less than January's 700,000, but we are still in a job decline. The official national unemployment rate is currently at 9.7%, up from 9.4% at the end of July.
It is important to realize, however, that the official rate doesn't take into account people that have been forced into part time work, nor does it include unemployed workers that would like to work by aren't actively seeking employment for a number...

WORLD: Unemployment Expected to Rise to 9.2%
New York, NY Preliminary reports by ADP claim that the US shed 532,000 jobs in May. If this is confirmed by the US Department of Labor, the US unemployment rate will reach 9.2%. While this is slightly lower than the Dow Jones expected loss of 550,000, it still doesn't help the families involved nor does it help America's unemployment offices any.
It is also important to note that these job losses still do not include the full brunt of the auto-industries layoffs. GM only announced its...

Washington Dc, USA The jobless report that came out today was not as bad as Wall Street expected, but it sure was a bad report. Around 651,000 jobs were lost in the month of February. The unemployment rate jumped to 8.1% (from 7.6%).

At 8.1%, the unemployment rate now exceeds the peak from the 1991 recession, 7.8% in June of 1992, and is at a 25-year high. During the recession of the early 1980s, the unemployment rate was greater...

With the Stock Market at its lowest point in about 20 years, banks around the world collapsing and unemployment...

WEIRD: Eye doctor under fire for calling his patient fat
Ashville, North Carolina There seems to be a little more to this story than merely a doctor calling a patient fat. The North Carolina Medical Board is not only concerned about the fact Dr. Earl Sunderhaus called the lady fat, but they are also concerned about his comments to the lady in general.
But the N.C. Medical Board may decide Sunderhaus overstepped the bounds of decency when he recently told a patient she was irresponsible for being unemployed, on Medicaid, and relying on taxpayers to cover...
