Mary Hein, 45-year old psychiatrist from Kenosha (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), has been accused of using sex, drugs and hypnosis to persuade a patient to kill her husband. The patient, whose name has not been released, was sent to see Hein for counselling after being arrested on a drink-drive charge. She allegedly told the patient that they will become a couple after the murder and live comfortably on her husband's $500,000 life insurance policy.
The patient claims that under hypnosis, she tried to persuade him to kill her husband. He also claims that she spiked a Gatorade bottle with a powerful drug that put him into a trance like state and had sex with him.
"It's pretty offensive to me as a psychotherapist," said Bruce Ambuel, professor of family and community medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. "That would be grounds for removing person's license."Source: www.todaystmj4.com
Hein was arrested after the man went to police and the therapist was secretly recorded plotting her husband's murder. She has been charged with sexual exploitation by a therapist, one count of solicitation of first-degree intentional homicide and one count of obstructing an officer.
She is facing up to 20 years in jail.
