I wonder if there can be any suitable punishment for being stupid, ignorant and a complete moron.

Marine reservist, Lance Cpl. Jasen D. Bruce, mistook Greek Orthodox Priest Alexios Marakis (visitng US from Crete) to be an Arab, terrorist, sex offender and robber when the priest tapped him on his shoulder to ask for directions after Markis' GPS gave him wrong directions. Jasen then hit the priest with an iron rod in the head, chased him for 4 blocks and called the cops claiming that he has nabbed a terrorist.

The incident took place Monday night in the parking garage of Bruce's condominium complex, the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times said Wednesday.

Father Alexios Marakis had wound up in the garage after being given bad directions by his car GPS system. He saw Bruce getting items out of his trunk, tapped him on the shoulder and asked in his limited English if he could help.

Bruce, a member of the Marine Reserve, instead grabbed a tire iron, chased the priest, who was wearing full church regalia, for three blocks and called 911 to say he had just captured a "terrorist."Source: www.upi.com

• Marakis shouted "Allahu akbar" or Arabic for "God is Great" - Marakis doesn't speak Arabic but speaks Greek (Greece is a long way from any Arab country)
  
• Marakis tried to rob him and sexually assault him - According to Jansen, the priest came all the way from Greece to rob and sexually assault him? Also since when does tapping someone on the shoulder become a sexual assault?

Tampa Police spokeswoman Laura McElroy said Bruce had a rambling set of charges against Marakis when officers arrived. He offered several explanations for his tire iron attack. "One was that he tried to rob him. The other was that he was an Arab terrorist and shouted "Allahu akbar" and he explained that 'That's what they say before they blow you up.' What if Marakis was really an Arab?  Have we all become so paranoid that we forgot that race has nothing to do with killings and killers? Are we going to become like Hitler and start killing people because they look different?
