Facebook messages might have saved you from boredom or might have even won you some love and/or hate but one facebook message saved a 19-year from jail time.

Rodney Bradford, 19, was arrested in connection to a October 17 armed robbery of two people in the Brooklyn housing project (where he lives). He was held for 12 days. He claimed that he was in Manhattan that time and had left a message on his pregnant girlfriend's facebook with an "inside" joke from his father's building. The message said -

"WHERE MY IHOP?"

Investigators said the electronic fingerprints from the Facebook posting backed up statements from several witnesses saying Bradford was at his father's house at the time of the robbery. Police said one of the victims had identified one of the robbers as Bradford.

"They had me on Rikers Island for 12 days. It was really miserable," Bradford said, referring to the prison in New York. "If it wasn't for Facebook I'd still be on Rikers Island."
