There seems to be stupid people committing strange crimes everywhere.

Take for example this crime in Colorado - Dave Strickland came back home back around 5pm on Monday to find a Lexus ES300 (not his own) parked in his garage, things in his master bedroom out of place and a man inside the house wearing only a pair of boxers that belonged to him! The intruder, 24-year old Timothy P. Gonzales, claimed it was his own house and had been at the house for almost the whole day.

Golden man is talking about an odd crime last week in which he confronted an intruder who was claiming he owned his home.

Dave Strickland told police he returned home on Nov. 9 in the evening and found a car that wasn't his in his garage. He then noticed his belongings had been rearranged inside the house so he got his handgun.

"I was near where I kept my firearms, so I prepared to have to defend myself," Strickland said.

Gun in hand, Strickland called out from his living room to see if anyone was there. He never expected what he saw next.

A strange individual, a young man, came around the corner wearing nothing but Strickland's boxer shorts. Police said the man was Timothy Gonzales, 24.

Strickland said that when he said to the man he was going to call the police, the "guy started ranting about him being the owner of the home and how he was going to come down here and kick me out of the house."

"The homeowner ordered the man out of his house and showed the suspect his gun. The man argued with the homeowner, claiming the homeowner's gun was not real," Golden police spokesman Jeff Hesalroad said. "When the suspect moved aggressively toward him, the homeowner fired a warning shot, purposely away from the suspect."

Police responded after a neighbor reported hearing a gunshot and when officers came in the house they found Strickland holding the suspect at gunpoint. Gonzales allegedly then tried to convince police that he was the real homeowner.

Gonzales had apparently been in the house most of the day. Golden police's investigation revealed he put some beer in the fridge and took a shower.

"He did his laundry and placed his own items in the refrigerator. Police also discovered materials commonly used to make methamphetamine on the work bench in the garage," Hesalroad said.

Strickland said Gonzales was there when real estate agents came to show the house to prospective buyers at two different points during the day and pretended he owned the home both times.

Police say there were no signs of forced entry in the home, but there is a lock box on the house because it's for sale. Strickland's theory is that Gonzales obtained the code somehow and used it to get in, but police continue to investigate that angle.

"It still just feels like it was a dream. It doesn't seem real," Strickland told CBS4.

Gonzales was arrested for burglary, possession of burglary tools and drug violations. His first court appearance was set for Tuesday morning.Source: cbs4denver.com

It seems like Timothy had to much to smoke(?)

that he forgot that it wasn't his home. But, how did he make it inside the garage and house?

Was it something to do with the fact that the house is on sale?

Something is definitely not right!
