Fight over unborn baby's name turns deadly; 3 killed in murder-suicide

Finding a perfect name for your unborn baby can get a little stressful especially when the parents don't agree on it. But for Joseph Cummings, it turned deadly. Joseph Cummings, 51-year old from East Boston, shot dead his longtime girlfriend and nail salon owner 35-year old Kimberly Nguyen, who was 6 months pregnant with his baby, during the fight in their second-floor master bedroom Monday night. He also shot her 29-year old sister Lilly J. Nguyen before he turned the gun on himself.

Authorities said Cummings, 51, argued with his girlfriend, Kimberly Nguyen, 35, over the baby’s last name in the second-floor master bedroom they shared on Ledge Road in Lynnfield.

“Our investigation indicates there was an argument over the name of the baby she was carrying,’’ Steve O’Connell, spokesman for Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett, said in a telephone interview yesterday. “She wanted to hyphenate the name, and he did not.’’Source: www.boston.com

Kimberly Nguyen's 12-year old daughter from an earlier marriage was "frozen in fear" as she hid in a room and once the shooting ended, she ran over to the neighbors and called 911.

Guns do kill people! Maybe it is a good time to revisit the age old "right to bear arms". When will we realize that if we can attack other countries for carrying weapons of mass destruction, we should also ban people from "easily" carrying these weapons of murder - or else one day we will just might kill each other during a trivial argument.
