I have little sympathy for a rich bastard who wrecks his elite car.  Generally they have enough money to buy many of them, so give or take a few hundred thousand dollars is usually trivial. 

On the other hand, when a Police officer wrecks a state owned Lamborghini Gallardo, one of two given as a gift by Lamborghini to help catch high speed vehicles, one has to wonder who the idiot driver was. 

According to the Police report (one has to wonder about this one), the driver of the Lamborghini swerved to avoid a car leaving a petrol station (gas station for you Americans that don't understand what Petrol means).  Wait, a police officer who is not only highly trained in driving but also deemed worthy enough to be given one of two Lamborghini's decides that in order to avoid a crazy (???) driver leaving a petrol station it would be a good idea to run it into a parked car?  That's the elite driving force of the Italian police?  Wow, where do I sign up?  I think my infant son could have done better than that.

I wonder if the owner of the banged up Mercedes B class will get some compensation for this insult.  There is no mention of the owner of this black Mercedes, or how many other cars were damaged (you can see one more in the picture), but I am sure that the police will find a way to fault those drivers for the accident ... parking in the wrong place?
