Once again, the catholics have their tunics in a bunch.  Apparently a'progressive' christian sect in New Zealand, St Matthew's, decided to attract new members with a racy new billboard showing Mary and Joseph in bed with Mary a little 'less than satisfied' after a round of sex.  The caption is quite telling, "Poor Joseph. God was a hard act to follow".

Strangely, the Catholic church has a problem with that.  Their spokesman says:

... the implication that Mary and Joseph had just had sex was "disrespectful" and "offensive" to Christians.Source: tools.themercury.com.au

I guess they don't read the bible much, there are several references to the brothers and sisters of Jesus.  Of  course, most of those references are in the 'other' books, but none the less they exist. 

It looks like New Zealanders are a bit fed up with religion in general.  Who blames them, with all the religious violence in the world, I would be more than happy to see religion become passe. 

The latest 2006 Census showed that 32.2 per cent - or 1.3 million Kiwis - profess to have no religion, up 270,000 people on the previous survey.

If only American's would stop being so hypocritical.  Either practice what you preach, or stop preaching that garbage.
