WEIRD: Man robs bank to pay mortgage!
Financial crisis is making people do strange things. There are a lot of people who can't make their ends meet anymore and can't even afford their mortgage.
A Black man in his 40s or 50s walked into a SunTrust Bank in Atlanta with a box wrapped in electrical tape claiming it to be a bomb that could be activated by a cellphone. He handed the teller a note saying - "give me the money ... I need to pay my mortgage ... Merry Christmas"
Police ask that anyone with information about the robbery call the commercial robbery unit at 404-853-4255.
Police are accepting anonymous tips, and any information leading to an arrest could lead to a reward of up$2,000.
My advice - don't act stupid or your mortgage payment will end you in jail for a very long time.

Interesting, to say the least. Mortgage, huh? I guess that is a better excuse than:
"Give me the money ... I want to get high ... go fuck yourself"
Makes you feel all the more compassionate towards the guy, no? Well, I would still put money on the fact that my message is likely more accurate to what was really going on in his head.

A 40 year mortgage allows homebuyers to keep monthly payments low at the same time paying down principal. You might save a hundred dollars or less per month, but if you stick to the loan schedule and don't pay it off early, you'll pay for it in the end. You see, the interest rate is a bit higher, even with lower monthly payments – and you'll end up paying $50,000 or more in interest alone above what you would pay for a 30 year mortgage. Some extra beer money is nice – but it won't net you the kind of debt relief you might think, and 40 year mortgages tend to benefit the loan lenders over the borrower.
