WEIRD: Escaped prisoner taunts British Police with Facebook updates
We keep finding new uses for social networking sites. The most recent one is for escaped inmates to taunt police.
28-Year old escaped prisoner, Craig Lynch, escaped from Hollesley Bay Prison in Suffolk (UK) in September. But instead of hiding away for the limelight, he made a Facebook account by the name of Craig "Lazie" Lynch. He seems to be using the account to taunt the police with his regular updates like - "eating 12lb steaks, going round to friends' houses and attending parties". The picture itself on his profile has him sticking his middle finger up at the camera.
The burglar has become prolific Facebooker with 199 friends and has even posted when he is going round to friend's homes and attending parties and events.
In a status update via mobile phone on Monday, Lynch said: "Craig 'Lazie' Lynch just had bundles of fun on the ice in me motor. Pure a--- out action, but well controlled."
In another at the weekend he said: "Craig 'Lazie' Lynch just nearly wrote my motor off again. Ice everywhere I went round the corner and ended up halfway on someone's driveway!!"
While Lynch should be doing porridge he boasted about tucking into extravagant meals: "Craig 'Lazie' Lynch mmm I just had a 12lb venison steak. Roasted veg and chips, bangin meal."
And instead of languishing in a prison cell he taunted police by saying his home is so warm it is tropical.
He said: "That's on already if it gets any colder durin xmas we'll have to stick the sun bed on as an extra heater we did it the other night it felt like the Caribbean in the bedroom ha ha."

Not sure if the updates will help the police to catch him, especially since he could be using any mobile device to update it.

Interestingly enough, Craig Lynch may be quitting Facebook. It seems to have little to do with the Police tracking Facebook, unsuccessfully I might add, but rather has a more personal feel. It seems he is upset at some of the comments he is receiving ... racist comments no less. I don't know about you guys, but considering the fact that this guy is a convicted criminal, aggravated burglary, who escaped from prison, I would have thought he was a little tougher skinned than that. Personally, I find those comments funny ... of course, some of them get a rise out of me, but they are usually preceded by a laugh or two.
Who might have imagined that, in his mysterious hideaway, Lynch had something better to do than continue his run as a Facebook attraction?
Still, he continued: "In fact due to the nature of some of these comments and the racist remarks that keep frequently poppin up have a dig at me by all means but why be abusive to others due to their colour or race it is petty minded fools who have ruined this site."
Petty-minded, indeed. Some of the world's great artists have suffered when their works have been ruined by unscrupulous, jealous critics, so Lynch's pain is entirely understandable.
However, he wants his supporters to know that he is grateful. For he posted: "Thank you to...all of you serious supporters out there and to my admin staff. To all you haters and hitlers out there i hope you slowly choke in your sleep."

While I am not a fan of Facebook, nor of Lynch, but I just find this whole situation odd.
