WEIRD: Revenge gone bad? Man firebombs the wrong house
Robert Holt, 25, of Thomson (Georgia) wanted to take revenge from his ex-girlfriend. He came up with the brilliant plan of throwing a Molotov cocktail through the window of her home. On the day of execution of the plan, he did everything right, except for the fact that he threw the bomb in the wrong house!
He is being held today without bond, charged with throwing the firebomb through the window of a Dell Drive house on Sunday night.
Mr. Holt was taken into custody shortly after the incident by officers with the Thomson Police Department. He has been arrested on a number of charges in recent months, authorities say, and is now facing charges of arson in the first-degree, four counts of aggravated assault and possession of an explosive device, according to police records.
Each charge is a felony.
No one was injured when the explosive device was thrown through the front window of a residence in the 500 block of Dell Drive shortly before 9 p.m., police said.
Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John W. Oxendine said in a prepared statement that Mr. Holt had mistaken the home for one where he thought his estranged girlfriend was living. Mr. Oxendine said he had the wrong house.
