WORLD: US Attorney General to Stop Raids on Medical Marijuana Clubs
It looks like Barack Obama is making good on another campaign promise. US Attorney General Eric Holder has announced that the FBI and DEA will be forbidden to raid Medical Marijuana Clubs. Personally, I find it odd that a state can legalize a practice otherwise illegal by federal standards, but the Federal Government is allowed to intervene in state policy by arresting those that participate in said practice. Confusing? Yeah, me too ...
When questioned, Holder responded:
No, what the President said during the campaign, you’ll be surprised to know, will be consistent with what we’ll be doing in law enforcement. He was my boss during the campaign. He is formally and technically and by law my boss now. What he said during the campaign is now American policy.
YouTubehas a nice video on the subject as well:
Personally, I think that Marijuana should simply be legalized, saving the government a great headache in arresting and prosecuting, while allowing those that enjoy Marijuana to purchase their product safely and legally.
