WORLD: George Bush Plans to Debate Bill Clinton
In a move that defies logic, the brilliant George Bush plans to hold an open debate with Bill Clinton at Radio City Music Hall on February 25, 2010. This is to be only a part of a series of debates pairing liberals and conservatives. This series is being called "Minds That Move The World."
The debate "will be formatted to allow for President Clinton and President Bush to each present their thoughts on a wide range of important current events and national issues through a moderated question and answer period during which the moderator can elicit information and insights into particularly pertinent topics of the day," according to a press release.Source: www.huffingtonpost.com
More information about the event can be found here, with an opportunity to suggest possible topics for discussion. Tickets for this event are to go on sale this Sunday, and are going to range from $60 to $1250. I am not sure what kind of tickets will be sold for $60, but I think that this is money well spent.
Formalities aside, am I the only person completely baffled by this match up? I am not trying to say that Bill Clinton is some sort of genius, but I can't imagine an opponent more inept in debating than George Bush. Unless, of course, the questions are going to be canned, or George Bush will be allowed an earpiece, this can't be possible.
I can only hope for some more great Bushisms from this debate. Some of my personal favorites include:
- They misunderestimated me.
- Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?
- I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family.
- You work three jobs? … Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that.
- Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.
But, of course, my absolute favorite has to be:
There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.
What are your favorites?

Yeah, this should be fun. I can only imagine how Bush will do against the suave Clinton. But, you are probably right, the questions will be predetermined. Otherwise, this will be a slaughter.

Debate with the liberal and conservative thinker? First of all, what is free? Clinton is not liberal. Secondly, where the thinker? GWB is not a thinker. We must admire the chutzpah and promoters clearly need a dollar easy. Apparently they do not understand that Americans do not usually buy a product package.
